Doesn't the niners already have 2 want to be starters ? Why would they want another ?

Get rid of Alex Smith.

Then you have:
Shaun Hill as the starter
Nate Davis/Josh Johnson under him learning from Singletarys people.

Not a bad situation at that point. Hill isnt a long term solution, but Johnson/Davis might very well be.

You know i don't really see any team spending too much money on FA qbs this year. If they can get them really cheap then they might pick them up, if not they will pass. Now here is why i am thinking that. With the quality of qbs coming to the draft next year, why waste money on a journeyman qb when they can pick up a future starter in the draft. Their are a good 5-6 qbs coming to the draft with a few more that might make some noise. It already looks as of right now, several teams are playing for the draft next year. TB starting BL is one of them and now maybe SF can be added to the list.

I think FA QBs this year will have a hard time finding work and making any serious amount of money and a contract longer than a year. If anybody signs a FA qb it will only be for a year, then draft one of these new qbs in the draft.
