Brady shoots down retirement talk

Nearing 35 years of age Brady let it be known today that he has no plans of retiring any time soon. "Well, I love doing [my job]," Brady said. "I don't want to wake up and be bored. That's probably my greatest fear is to have nothing to do. What better job is there than to play quarterback for an NFL team, and certainly one that I've been on for a long time and had success with? I don't plan on giving it up any time soon." Feel safe drafting Brady as an elite option for a few more years.

Seems like just yesterday we were debating about whether it was fair or unfair for Bledsoe to lose his starting job because of an injury.

incidentally this takes me down memory lane a bit... i was watching that 01 superbowl in the dorms down the hall in bishop's room. A LOT of Rams fans around, and me, always a fan of the underdog watching this guy brady from nowhere beat the greatest show on turf and loving every minute... my how roles change over the years

Only thing I remember about that debate was being on the wrong side of it

It is hard to believe that he's nearly 35 now. I can see many more years for Brady in New England.

Possibly, but he is at the age where injuries come much easier and last longer

How ironic would it be for somebody to come in and take his job due to an injury

Brady, even though I am not a big fan of his, shows no signs of decline enough to even warrant this kind of retirement talk. He probably has atleast 3 more years of great play left.
