Draft Projection - Top 10 Pick

NFL Impact - Blaine Gabbert has the perfect mold for an NFL QB: he's big, strong, and deceptively fast. On top of all of this, the kid has a cannon, and happens to be fairly bright between the ears. Gabbert was a two year starter at Missouri where he threw for over 3,000 yards in back to back seasons, posting a career 60.9% passing efficiency in college. In only a couple of years as the Tigers' starting QB, Gabbert is currently fourth in school history for passing yards, and third in school history for TDs. Blaine does have some question marks, however, and is not a finished product. A lot of scouts believe that Gabbert came out of school a little soon and that he should have spent the next year honing his skills for the NFL level. Although Gabbert has shown great awareness, and keeps his eyes down field, he often times gets paranoid in the pocket and is known to bail when he should otherwise step forward and make a throw down field. Blaine is also coming from a spread offense and has little to no experience playing under center. Because of this his footwork is very questionable and his ability to read a defense is mediocre at best, although I have seen him make some reads off of deep safety coverage that can translate into the NFL nicely.

Where do you think Blaine Gabbert will end up? Is he worth the hype?

The youtube link below is great because it's an entire game.

Biggest ? i have about him is he is coming out of a spread offence and would have to learn how to play under center. And his numbers for last season are kinda low for running a spread offence.

I can completely agree with that. Only 16 TDs last year and 9 INT. Bradford killed Gabbert's stats, and coming from a spread he should have had more impressive numbers. Hell, Mallet had two seasons back to back with 30 or more TDs!

Can't remember his name now, Missouri QB before Gabbert ? Hell he had alot better numbers than Gabbert and IMO a much better QB and he's not starting anywhere right now. I can see him being one of the many QBs in this draft class that doesnt cut it and if lucky just becomes a career backup.

That would be Chase Daniels. And I agree once more, I think he was better than Blaine. Daniels is backing up Drew Brees in NO now. Kid has a Super Bowl ring, hah.

Okay here I will disagree. First Chase does not have the same size as Gabbert, nor arm. Gabbert also did not have the same tools as Chase did. But I do concede your point where Gabbert did not seem as explosive in that offense.

Chase was a winner at Mizzou tho and put up good numbers in that same offence. True Gab didn't have Maclin but still had the same offensive scheme. And Chase gets to sit and learn behind one of the greatest, Brees, yeah he'll be just fine. Maybe in a few years it'll be another Kolb type situation. Kinda reaching but yeah never know.
