Bills WR James Hardy is PUPed.

Bills wideout James Hardy will not begin training camp on time. The team placed him on the PUP list Saturday, according to their website, as he continues on the road to recovery from ACL surgery. Some times these trips to the PUP list are short but right now it means he can't be cleared to practice.

Many of us thought this high pick by the Bills would step in and make a difference from the get go. It turned out not to be true and being on the Physically Unable to Perform list until close to the start of the regular season makes him a real fantasy longshot this year. It appears that The Bills went with plan T.....O instead during the offseason.

If I'm looking at Buffalo's 5th WR on the depth chart at any point in time during a draft, things have gone terribly wrong.

I'm with Coach though. When they selected Hardy, I really thought he would end the year as a solid complement to Lee Evans and continue to develop into a borderline draftable fantasy commodity.

Oops.

Why are we already dismissing Hardy? I don't get that. So people had overly high expectations of him as a rookie, that's the "oops" here. Let's give him three years of solid playing time before calling him a bust.

I was referring to my outlook for him for last year only. I don't really throw the bust word around very much at all because I've seen guys labeled way too early who've gone on to have productive careers.
Just gonna be an uphill climb for Hardy, but at least he's got at least a 1-year grace period with Owens in the fold.

Not going the bust route but I can see him NOT getting solid playing time this year if this start is any indication.

This news is kinda sad for me.

2 years ago, I had Buffalo picked to be the team to beat in 2 years. Edwards was gonna mature into a field general, Lynch was gonna blow up the league behind a solid O-Line and Hardy was gonna be the perfect distraction for Evans.

It's been 2 years and I don't even see them making the play offs.

Quite honestly I don't think you are far off.

The problem with Buffalo was they were drafting Wrs but not for the right positions. Evans is a deep threat..but they needed a guy that also could go over the middle. Right now you are looking at Evans and Owens outside, and Reed inside at the slot. Where they are best. Add in a young TE that can catch...and you finally give Edwards the hot read dump off he needed.

Lynch to me is a lost cause...but I do like Jackson...and Rhodes as the plodder as well.

Edwards will have no excuses if the line can keep him clean. With the addittion of the no huddle they are adding...it will be sink or swim for him this year.

D-line should be healthy...so pressure on QB could happen.

All in all, I think they are a sleeper this year.
