Big Ben Roethlisberger: Fantasy QB?

Just two years ago Ben threw for 32 TD's......the upside is there. The downside is also limited. I would take ben over either of those QB's in a redraft league.

Would you also take Santonio Holmes over Andre Johnson or Roddy White?

Would you take Heath Miller over Owen Daniels or Tony Gonzelez?

Would you take Willie Parker over Steve Slaton or Michael Turner?

If you answered "no" to all those questions, then you should be re-evaluating your stance on Ben's value.

In most cases, the value of the QB and value of the RB/WR/TE directly correlate.

I'll take the sum of what I have with Roeth over the "potential" of what you have with Schaub(doesn't matter who his weapons are if he can't stay healthy) or Ryan (a littlew closer, but safer pick is still Roeth). Also, looking at just a small snap shot can leave you without the whole picture. The depth of Pitt's WR's and TE's are better than Houston and right there if not better than Atlanta.

If the value of a RB/WR/TE combo equals the QB why was Schaub a disappintm, ent last year? Because he can't stay healthy. Gotta look at the whole picture. Roeth may not be the sexy pick, but he is solid and effective. And if you want upside, as I stated before, is 32 TD's enough upside for you? Well he's done that....the other two have not, and there is a good chance they never will their entire pro careers.

I hear ya Miller. You make a good point. Ben is a much safer pick. I tend to buy into the upside of QBs though.

I think Matt Ryan could easily have a 32 TD season. It might not be this one, but he has the skills and tools to make that happen.

Schaub could do it to if the guy could stay healthy, just like you said.

Yeah, ok, we get your point already.. the horse is officially dead and starting to decay.

We'll join a league together and you go ahead and give me Jay Cutler, and you can have Trent Edwards.

Since T.O., Lee Evans, and Josh Reed are better than Earl Bennett, Hester, and Greg Olsen right?

It doesn't work in every case, but most times it's a good way to measure value.

I'll shut up now.
