Bengal Recieving Corps Updates.

Actually, I would love to see Shipley on the #2 side, with Caldwell in the slot. That would be a great combination. I just don't see Owens, unless they cut Bryant due to the knee.

Espn is reporting that TO could sign with the Bengals or the Rams within the next two to three days.

cbssports.com,
The Bengals signed rookie WR Jordan Shipley on Wednesday. Shipley, from Texas, was one of two Bengals' selections in the third round (84th overall). Shipley left Texas as the school's all-time receptions leader (248). He ranks second in Longhorn annals in receiving yards (3191) and TD catches (33). Also a standout kick returner, he averaged 12.5 yards on punts with three TDs and 24.6 yards on kickoffs with one TD. He played in all 53 games of his four active seasons and helped lead the team to a 45-8 record during that span.

Analysis: Shipley will compete with Andre Caldwell for the No. 4 WR spot in Cincinnati behind Chad Ochocinco, Terrell Owens and Antonio Bryant. Shipley could see time playing in the slot role, but he's not going to have much of an impact in his rookie year. He should be drafted with a mid-round pick in rookie-only leagues since Owens and Bryant are short-term solutions for 2010, and Shipley could end up as a starter as early as 2011.

Ocho's last year of his contract is 2011 as well, so there will plenty of room for him into the future.

The Bengals could have let J.Shipley get his shot and saved $2 million

Grab J.Shipley and stash him in all dynasty leagues T.O will be gone in 2011 and Shipley will get busy and make Bengal fans forget T.O even wore stripes.

cbssports.com,
At first glance, Bengals WR Antonio Bryant appeared without a brace and running at full speed without a problem on the first practice of the team's training camp. But Bryant says he is not full go even though he's going through his reps. He thinks he will be 100 percent for the season opener against New England but is currently only practicing once a day. The biggest hurdle for Bryant is mentally recovering from his left knee injury suffered in the spring. "The football part is the easy part," he said. "The only thing I am struggling with right now is mentally putting it down without thinking 'Will I feel pain?'"

Analysis: The reality is that Bryant will likely play third (or fourth) fiddle among the Bengals' receivers behind Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens, if not others. The odds of him being a candidate for even 800 yards and five touchdowns seem long. Keep him limited to a late-round flier in deeper leagues. You might find yourself doubling back to get him off waivers during the season, but that doesn't make him worthy of a pick in typical formats.

Cincinnati Bengals WR Antonio Bryant (knee) said his knee isn't 100 percent and he is not isn't able to go at full speed, but he was able to take all of his reps during practice Thursday, July 29, and will be ready for Week 1, reports Geoff Hobson, of Bengals.com.

Bryant's knee injury was key in the Bengals signing Terrell Owens. We'll see how the depth chart will shake out if Bryant is healthy, and whether or not he'll be moved to the slot position.

According to Bengals.com's Geoff Hobson, Antonio Bryant's troublesome knee has been described as a "bone-on-bone problem."

cbssports.com,
Newsday reports that, according to a league source, the Bengals will soon release WR Antonio Bryant. The veteran receiver has been dealing with a knee injury since last season.

Analysis: Bryant spoke out about his injury to the Cincinnati Inquirer recently, saying that he was getting close to a return. However, the only thing that's close at this point appears to be his release. The 29-year-old's monster 2008 campaign (1248 yards, seven TDs) might have been his last hurrah in the NFL, especially if this knee problem is more serious than the Bengals are letting on. Bryant should probably be avoided in Fantasy play for now, and if you drafted him already, start making alternative plans for a backup WR.

The Bengals will lose a $7M signing bonus if they cut this young man so I'm not so sure that they will.

Don't be so sure. the rumor I heard is his knee is bone on bone, and not something that can be fixed. Being and uncapped year, they will cut him as it won't get better, and let the youngsters they like take the roster spot.

Bengals released WR Antonio Bryant.

Undrafted rookie C Mike Windt was also let go. Bryant is released on the same day as Laveranues Coles was by the Jets, making some history. They were massive, $30 million free agent busts for Cincinnati and ended up being released in back-to-back years. At least Coles played a down for the Bengals. Bryant never did, but will collect a $3.6 million signing bonus, $3.1 million roster bonus (paid in March), and a $250,000 offseason workout bonus. The Bengals will open the season with Terrell Owens, Chad Ochocinco, and Jordan Shipley as their top three receivers.

Not a bad trio.

Add in Cedric, Gesham, a good O-line and decent D and the Bengals are lined up for great things!

So why is Palmer ranked so low?

they have some upside behind that trio as well. Caldwell, Simpson, Matt Jones, Crosby, Briscoe, all still battling for a roster spot.

Looks like Simpson and Crosby are the last 2 standing in this roster battle. The Bengals have reportedly cut Matt Jones and Dez Briscoe (6th rd pick this year).
