Good article on the rookie TE. Looks like he's doing what all rookies should be doing this time of the year....being a sponge. Veteran TE, Reggie Kelly, seems to understand the role he is going to play and has been working with the TE to get him ready. Kelly is an excellent blocker and if he can work with Gresham in this area there is a very good chance you will see him on the field a lot. The Bengals are not known for using the TE much, but they went and got Gresham for a reason, sounds like he's going to be ready to contribute early on.

Cincinnati Bengals WR Jordan Shipley saw most of the No. 3 wide receiver reps during the team's minicamp, reports Joe Reedy, of The Cincinnati Enquirer.

While there are a lot of WRs looking for balls in this O, I have read a lot of good things about this kid.

True and it appears that Antonio Bryant is still not healthy though the team claims not to be concerned about him yet. Shipley could be a nice surprise for team owners this season.

Bengals WR Matt Jones reportedly looked like "just another guy" at the team's recent mandatory minicamp. Analysis: Jones, battling Jerome Simpson for one roster spot, was reportedly outplayed by Simpson on the practice field. According to the Dayton Daily News, Jones showed "little burst off the line," caught too many passes with his body rather than his hands, and didn't fight for balls in traffic.

Some FFers are view Jones as a sleeper, How's it going ?.....

Still have training camp to go but Jones may be too well rested to have an impact.

As Mud points out Bryant has not been practicing as he is recovering from an injury. So far, Bryant seems to be getting a pass and seems to still be in line to be a starter. But just keep your eyes open when camp begins as this situation may become more fluid.

ESPN's John Clayton expects Cincinnati Bengals third-round draft pick WR Jordan Shipley to beat out WR Andre Caldwell for the slot receiver role in three-receiver sets. He's a faster version of WR Wes Welker who can twist his body, move his feet and get open. Caldwell did OK as WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh's replacement in the slot, but he faded in the second half of last season. With Shipley, Caldwell and WR Quan Cosby, the Bengals have three slot options for depth.

Green Bay Packers CB Al Harris (knee) said he believes that he will be ready for the start of the regular season, reports Jason Wilde, of ESPNMilwaukee.com. Harris said he is close to having full range of movement in his knee.
He might be odd man out on the Bengals Wr corp though! :worried3:

Joe Bryant,
CIN - Bengals hoping WR Jordan Shipley can develop into No. 3 WR
Source: Joe Reedy - The Cincinnati Enquirer

The Cincinnati Bengals are hoping that WR Jordan Shipley will be able to develop into a productive slot receiver for them this season, reports Joe Reedy, of The Cincinnati Enquirer.

OUR VIEW

Shipley was perhaps the most consistent receiver in college football last year. He's got a good size/speed combination and knows how to pick up significant yardage with his run after the catch ability. Shipley will compete with veteran Andre 'Bubba' Caldwell to be the Bengals slot receiver this year.

latest from local paper in Cincy is that Ocho cinco, Bryant, Caldwell and Shipley are locks. That leaves two positions expected left for a fight between Simpson, Jones, Quan cosby and Briscoe.

All have plusses and minuses. Should be a great camp battle.

The cbssports.com spin on things,

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that the Bengals will hold a competition for the No. 3 WR spot between rookie Jordan Shipley and veteran Andre Caldwell. The report says the Bengals are hoping that Shipley "can develop into that inside and clutch third-down receiver that they missed with the departure of T.J. Houshmandzadeh."

Analysis: We expect Shipley to win the job, but neither WR has much Fantasy value this season. Chad Ochocinco and Antonio Bryant are the top two options in the passing game, and Shipley and Caldwell will both split time as the third receiver. Ignore both in seasonal leagues on Draft Day, but Shipley is worth a mid-round pick in rookie-only drafts.

JoeBryant,
Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said he believes WR Andre Caldwell was the most improved player during offseason workouts, reports Geoff Hobson, of Bengals.com.

OUR VIEW

Andre 'Bubba' Caldwell has a fearless nature running routes over the middle and has become a trusted receiver for Carson Palmer. However, the Bengals drafted rookie Jordan Shipley to compete with Caldwell for the starting slot position. Shipley is more dangerous after the catch than Caldwell, so we'll see who wins the job after training camp.

Andre Caldwell had a hot start last season but cooled off fast so if Jordon Shipley can get his shot and show some consistency the slot will be all his.

cbssports.com,
The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that Bengals WR Chad Ochocinco, despite several off-field ventures this offseason that included his own reality show and an appearance on Dancing With the Stars, has still has kept up his training regiment. "I do the boxing drills that help relate to football. It's all the same, the movements are the same," Ochocinco said. "The sparring and stuff allows me to have more of an edge from constantly being hit. The footwork coincides also. It all goes hand in hand. It's all going to work one once training camp starts." While Ochocinco did get his sixth trip to the Pro Bowl last season with 72 receptions for 1,047 yards and nine touchdowns, he still has a chip on his shoulder. It's about proving that he deserves to stay in the discussion as one of the best receivers in the NFL. "It's now playing at a higher level becomes a lot more difficult when the teams are focused on that individual. When I'm able to overcome those obstacles I'll be able to be successful," Ochocinco said. "The look of our team has changed so the numbers are going to change. We're not a pass happy offense like we once were. The numbers were earned even more. I had to work harder."

Analysis: Even though the Bengals focused more on the run in 2009 with Cedric Benson and also added talent in the receiving corps this offseason with Antonio Bryant and rookies Jermaine Gresham and Jordan Shipley, we still value Ochocinco as an elite Fantasy talent. He should be considered a solid No. 2 Fantasy WR, and he's worth drafting about Round 5 in all leagues.

rotoworld,
According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, Antonio Bryant's surgically repaired was still a "problem" this offseason.

Mort suggests the health of Bryant's knee as "one factor to watch" in the Bengals' reported interest in Terrell Owens. Bryant underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee last August, and it continued to bother him off and on throughout the 2009 season. It was already a slight concern that he was "resting" the knee during offseason work, and Mort's report is cause for further pause. There's reason to believe Bryant's knee could be worse than the Bengals have let on. Jul. 24 - 1:10 am et
