Willis McGahee (ankle surgery) resumed practicing at Ravens' minicamp Tuesday, but worked with the second-team offense. It's still early, but Ray Rice appears to have the inside track on the starting tailback job. John Harbaugh didn't seem pleased with McGahee's prior absences from voluntary work, or confident about his health. "I don't know. I have no idea where he's at (in his recovery)," the coach said. "It's the first day he's been here in a week and a half. I can't gauge it."
I don't think so. As a new incoming head coach...with a rookie Qb at the helm, you have to want to have one rb that will carry the rock and protect that rookie Qb. I think last year he realized what Buffalo knew....McGahee just can't be counted on to stay healthy. It is why they took Rice last year...to take load off...and when Rice was dinged up..they gave it to McClain. Is this just the coach sticking it to McGahee the only way he really can for not participating prior to now? If McG establishes himself as still being the best of the bunch he will be back with the 1st team when it counts - doesn't answer the question if he is the best of the bunch though does it?

If Rice can handle it...he will take over...and McGahee will be phased out. IMO
Their timing has been perfect on both. You could be right - Buffalo has gotten rid of 2 now (McG and Henry) at a time when they still had value but on the verge of a decline/departure from the league.
