Arian Foster returned to practice today

The Texans will likely have him ready for week 2. Coach says that he had a normal Wednesday practice and barring a setback he'll be back starting this week.

Additionally Coach went on to say that Tate would likely get most of the reps in the game. True? or perhaps he's playing it close to the vest as to what he actually has planned.

Foster (hamstring/limited Wednesday) expects to play Sunday at Miami, HoustonTexans.com's Nick Scurfield reports. "That's the plan," Foster said. "But you never know with hamstring injuries. They're tricky, man. Sometimes, they'll sneak up on you."
Spin: It sounded pretty good until he added the disclaimer, but Foster does seem to be headed in the right direction. For his part, coach Gary Kubiak indicated that if Foster does suit up in Week 2, he won't be babied. "If he can play, you play (him)," Kubiak said. "There won't be being careful with him. You may say, This is how many times he's going to touch it,' but you can't do something half-speed out there. We'd have to see, but if he's ready to go, he puts us at our best and he'll be out there."

I will continue to check on his status practice to practice, but if he suits up, I think it's a safe bet he will contribute nicely.

I wouldn't be so sure, EB.

Teams have shown little urgency to rush back injured players lately (unless they have to) and Kubiak has been known to stick with the hot hand.

I could easily see Foster making a cameo appearance and Tate carrying the load....until he fumbles.

According to news, Tate is now officially the #2 rb, with help from Ward and his bum ankle. First step done, now to remove Foster....bwahahahahaha

Foster had what was termed a "limited" practice again today. Afterwards coach said he appeared to be good to go but that he wouldn't play 90% of the snaps as he normally would.

For you Foster/Tate owners, this type situation is much harder to deal with than a simple OUT would be.

Flip a coin.

Here's some speculation for you:

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports that the Texans are targeting 20 Week 2 touches for Arian Foster (questionable, hamstring), and 10 for Ben Tate off the bench.
McClain also believes Foster is a shoo-in to start against the Dolphins. "Gary Kubiak likes Foster to get at least 25 touches," McClain notes. "Cause he's been out, I bet it'll be somewhere around 20, depending on how game goes." According to McClain, Foster "could have started" in Week 1 against the Colts had it been a playoff game. Foster needs to be penciled into fantasy lineups for now, and monitored into Sunday morning. Source: John McClain on Twitter

20 touches I can live with. 10 for Tate this week could put him ahead of Bush as my flex.
