Colts Sunday Injury Update - Gonzalez Injured --
Sun Jun 7, 2009 --from FFMastermind.com
AP reports Indianapolis Colts WR Anthony Gonzalez missed the team's practice Sunday because of an injured right leg. HC Jim Caldwell didn't give details about the injury, which occurred during Saturday's mini-camp practice at Franklin College. Gonzalez stayed on the field after hurting his leg, but spent the rest of practice stretching it out. Caldwell said Gonzalez, who's expected to replace WR Marvin Harrison in the Colts' lineup, could return to the field Tuesday or Wednesday when Indianapolis finishes its scheduled offseason workouts. Gonzalez is yet another addition to Indy's growing list of injured players. On Sunday, the Colts announced OL Steve Justice and WR Sam Giguere are recovering from injuries, too. Justice had back surgery this past week, while Giguere has been out since breaking a bone in his leg during practice last month. Justice is the second Colts player to have surgery this past week, joining PK Adam Vinatieri, who had his right hip repaired earlier in the week. Justice is expected to return when training camp opens, while Vinatieri is expected to be ready for the start of the regular season. Two other offensive linemen, OT Tony Ugoh and OG Ryan Lilja, said they also had offseason surgery. Ugoh had arthroscopic surgery to clean out his right knee and has been practicing. For Lilja, it was the third surgery he's had for a knee injury that kept him out all of last season.

scared me there RC, doesn't look like this is anything to be worried about. Gonzo is the X factor in this offense this year IMO. IF he can step up they should be fine, if he struggles and teams can load up on Wayne they may struggle more then in recent years.

Sorry about that, and you are likely right. I just don't really trust anything that comes out of Indy or NE injury wise. I didn't look hard enough and should have put this in a generic news thread. Move it if you want Miller to save someone else a stroke. lol!

For some reason I see Clark doing one hell of a Witten impression this year, and could be the steal of the TE draft in the 5th round. Seems to be more heavily targeted in the pay zone then Witten anyway.

Any injury on Colts players deserves scrutiny. Like you said NE and the Colts have become masters of injury deception. We just recently learned of the Addai surgery, well after the fact. More info is better than less info even if it just leads to a good Gonzo discussion.

It will be interesting to see Gonzo start out the season as a starter. I've been wondering if Marvin might have actually held back the Colts O last year. Gonzo could be a big producer and bring Wayne back a bit at the same time.

Im interested in Garcons development. Think he might be a guy to keep a close eye on

This is actually a good point. I'm not sure if Hall or Garcon will emerge, but one of these guys will be in the slot. Gonzo is a slot guy, so if one of these two can emerge and earn some playing time, they could move into the #2 spot and let Gonzo play where he was made to play. God guys, don't rip me for this, I'm not saying Gonzo loses his starting #2 spot to one of these guys this year. I'm saying it's a long shot but one of these two guys could turn into the #2 eventually, but they have a shit ton of development to do before that happens.

Without being taken too literally, I wonder if this situation with A Gonzalez, is kinda like the Steve Smith (NYG) situation. Two guys who can move the chains, but not really cut out for super Stardom. Excellant role players and nothing more. I think I feel ya on this Bull.
