This is just to keep from putting Kaepernick out there too early. Look for Kaepernick to take over around mid season unless Smith comes out of the gate at with at least 5 wins in the first 8 games.

I guess Smith is better than nothing. I thought they might go after Hasselbeck.

Not to worry the Niners will go 1-3 and the only thing Smith will be holding is a clipboard.

BTW with the secondary as bad as the Niners it wont matter who you have under center to keep them in the game, its going to get ugly real fast before it gets better in San Fran.
