The saying goes that Texans like things bigger. So with this week’s public announcement by Texas A&M’s university president Loftin that his institution would forego a courtship by the Southeastern Conference to join the biggest collegiate athletic conference in the country to remain in a smaller Big 12 minus Nebraska and Colorado, needless to say it hasn’t gone over well with the Aggie faithful.Scout.com: Decision Not Sitting Well With Texas A&M Fans

It's hard to blame them after reading the story.

The Beebe 10 is a joke concocted by Disney, Fox, and the 5 reject schools. ESPN & Fox want to keep costs low and preserve the current BCS system in the short term. The 5 rejects were willing to give away their buyout funds to the schools ready to bolt to keep them in place.

If Colorado knew the Big XII would stay intact they wouldn't have left. They got nervous and acted out of fear of being left out in the cold.

I don't think it would have played out that way. The only reason the Big 2 was saved is that 6 of their teams were going to the Pac-10 and the BCS block (Disney/Fox Sports) stepped in to save their investment in the current, broken system. Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, & Mizzou were going to do anything, because they were on their way out of a BCS conference, which is why they paid off Texas.

The Big 2 is unsustainable, unless they can poach off an Arkansas.

I'm more interested in what makes him think that Arkansas would even consider leaving the best football conference in America for. I've seen him mention it twice now I believe. The Hogs have developed a great rivalary with LSU helped by several years of national exposure on the Friday after Thanksgiving and started actually in the 60's when the Tigers ruined their perfect season. Of course the Friday game on CBS has moved over to Alabama now. The Ole Miss/Arkansas game each year is one that has grown in intensity.

Don't really think Arkansas would leave the SEC for any division. It would be interesting to see how they handled Texas/Oklahoma tho. Don't think it would be fair since they already have a brutal SEC schedule each year . Only way to even it out would be have Texas/Oklahoma each play good teams out of the SEC. That would be fun to watch, every year they have the SEC/ Big 10/12 whatever they are now schedule a game or two against each other.
