A Young Mans Game?

On Sunday two players who could be considered "over the hill" played like they had the freshest legs of their career.

The age of 30 is typically the breaking point for most RBs. Usually it's a case of extreme wear and tear that makes these 3 decade old players a dinosaur at the position. Darren Sproles challenged that theory yesterday. Sure, he's not the prototype RB by any means. He hasn't seen the same abuse as a lot of the other guys, but never the less, he is at that age where he could be slowing down. This doesn't appear to be the case though.

On Sunday, Sproles tied his career high for fantasy output and reminded everyone how dangerous he still is. At 5'6, he appears to be a mere child among giants. If only those giants could catch him.

Not to be outdone by some tiny RB, Tony Gonzalez put on a show for the ages on Sunday night in prime time.

This is a guy who at the age of 37 could have legitimately retired last year and felt pretty damn good about going down at the greatest player to ever play his position.

A lot of people have made note this year that he's slowing down and is not quite the same player he once was. He shut them all up with a fantasy score that he has only topped in 1 game in his entire career.

One game is impressive, but what about being the tips at your position at 37? That's what Peyton Manning is doing in 2013.

Sure, it's easier for a 37 yr old guy to play QB than TE, but this is something really special we're seeing this year. He could shatter almost every single season passing record known to fans. Everyone is just shrugging their shoulders and saying "yep, that's Peyton".

It's extraordinary that just 2 years ago this guys career looked like it could be over. Now he's healthy again and is playing better than he ever has. He's on pace for 5900 yards and 64 TDs through 4 games.

No country for old men you say?? I disagree
