rotoworld,
Adrian Peterson pleaded guilty to driving 99 mph in a 55-mph zone back in November in Edina, Minnesota.

Authorities say that Peterson was actually clocked at 109 mph, but the speed was reduced to 99 mph as part of an agreement. Peterson's license will not be revoked.

And why will it not be revoked? And mthis is why we have problems with some professional athletes. They are not held too the same standards and laws we are, people who actullay pay theie salary by attending games, buying merchandise, etc. This is BS, he (they) should be held accountable for his stupidity. Lets see if it was me, what would have happened. First off since i was 44 mph over, my CDL would be taken away, been thrown in jail for reckless driving, car impounded and had court costs out the ass trying to get my driving privlages back again. So this should happen to him also. But it won't. Hope Goodall suspends his ass for the year w/o pay. Shit why not, Ben got suspended for 4-6 games for "accusations", well here AP is guilty so he should pay the piper.

And this double standard is what makes them feel so invinsible and untouchable and above the law. And until this double standard stops and stop giving rookies so much money at their maturity level this will never stop. Professional sports should be run more like real life. You don't come in to a company(team) making top dollar. You have to earn it and work your way to the top. Their should be a rookie maximum on wages with a pay scale on job longevity. Like in real life. And screw contracts, they should be able to be fired also for not performing or doing wrong. And none of this money compensation crap for being fired. Signing bonus? HA, get your ass to work and we'll talk about a bonus according to your performance. They should be payed to play not payed on hopes they play.

LOL, Rather see people boycott games for a season and have the NFL lose their asses financially since they would have to still pay these over priced individuals. They are already in the process in taking the fun out of the game(taking away celebrations, etc) and putting their "investments" above the law. They made their bed now let them sleep in it. Boycott the 2010 season and see how fast ticket prices drop and other changes come about. All the money BS is the main reason i am more into college sports. The game is still played with passion and desire.

Well this is an excessive speed. If it was me, one of two things would have happened. 1) they cite me with an excessive speed; 2) they cite me with a reckless operation of a motor vehicle. Without any other issues on my record there is a good chance that the first one would not result in me losing my license. If I got the reck op, good chance I would have seen a small suspension, but I don't think that is a lock though.

Not sure the laws there each state does have different laws for this kind of thing. Most states if a driver is going 25 mph over then it is automatic license suspension and car impound. Being jailed depends on officers/drivers attitude. No realistic reason he should still have his license or the speed dropped 10mph or him have any favortism shown towards him. What if this fool caused an accident or even killed somebody? Is that what it would take for him to have punishment? If the police officer was a Packer fan i wonder if this would have turned out different. I hope the judge is a GB season ticket holder. LOL

The last time I got wrote up for 99 mph they told me that at 100 mph they could lock me up and I'd lose my license automatic. FTR I only have 1 ticket doing 99 and it was many years ago so the rules might have changed. I told the cop that if he could have clocked me after I met him he'd have been able to throw me under the jail.

LOL, okay think about this. He was doing 109 in a 55 zone. And it was taken down to 99 in a 55 zone stilldoing 44 over. Thats insane. And these fools are supposed to be role models for kids growing up today? All this tells them is become an athlete and do as you please, the laws don't conform to you. Just pathetic bottom line. I have nothing against AP at all, just dont care for how the law handled this situation.

not sure about all states, but i know dropping violations to a lesser violation is quite common in ohio. Quite often a first time dui will be dropped to a reckless op. same premises here. A couple years ago i received my 2nd speed in a year. PO informed me if he wrote it as such my fine would double so he wrote it as a standard.

i get what you are saying about preferred treatment, but in this case, i doubt that this is uncommon at all for them to drop it to 99.

So, essentially, you are saying that speeding is on par with being accused of rape twice in the same year? Interesting. Yes, I'm certain there is some logic to that............:shake:

UH der, i said one was "accused" (never found guilty) and the other is guilty. That is what i am saying dont need someone trying to act intelligent put words in my typing.

BTW....." Yes, I'm certain there is some logic to that...." Saying that all the time you try to make any kind of point does not make you sound intelligent. Quite the contrary, makes you sound less intelligent.

From the guy that gave us these gems:

-Suns in 4
-ADP should have his license revoked, be thrown in jail and be suspended by the NFL for speeding
-Being accused of rape is less serious than being found guilty of speeding.

They last one is especially perplexing. As a father, I wouldn't be concerned as much about my daughter dating a guy who got convicted of speeding as I would a guy accused twice of rape. As commish of the NFL, I wouldn't be as concerned about a "code of conduct" violation with a guy who was convicted of speeding as I would a guy accused twice of rape. See where I'm going with this? Kind of a more serious crime and the fact that the accusation was leveled at you twice might mean there is something to it despite not being convicted. Of course you might have a point about Ben. I mean, OJ was only accused of double murder, he wasn't convicted. I guess if he had been an active player, that first offense wouldn't have warranted any suspension. :shake:

Looks like that 110 total yard/2 TD game that ADP put up in game 16 cost someone a championship in their fantasy league.............

You just don't get it. Your one of the ones that okays this behavior and keeps going to the games, buying merchadise and screaming, at least he didn't do what so - so did. As long as you make it ok in your head then its all good. Personally i have higher morals and these idiots are suppose to be role models for the next generation. Breaking the law by doing 109/55 and getting it dropped to 99/55 just so he doesnt lose his license tells them what again? So keep justifing it all you want but this double standard BS needs to stop.
