A Kings Ransom paid for J Jones.....will he be worth it?

Well Matt Ryan has to be happy, but the Falcons paid a dear price to move up and get Jones. White has a legit WR on the opposite side and Ryan has the weapons to make a big jump....but was the price too much? 2 1's, a 2 and 2 4's I think was the price....seems steep!

What are the outlaws thoughts?

They paid too much. And if rumors are true, and they offered Cincy to get Green, and Cincy walked away from this...they deserve to lose for a very, very long time.

Yeah, Cincy is ****ing retarded if they said no to all those picks. This was the year to trade back, IMO, because with only this pick scale to use, you could straight up bank, son! That's what Cleveland did.

With that said, I do believe that Atlanta payed too much, but their primed to win it all, RIGHT NOW! They just got way better. However, we say that about teams every year after the 1st round and it hardly ever happens... right Dallas???

I don't completely disagree.....BUT......IMO, there is a big difference from passing on the picks with an opportunity to take Green or Peterson and passing on the picks for the opportunity to take Jones.

27 is a LONG way down and I know there was a ton of picks tossed in, but Green and Peterson IMO were the two safest picks in this draft. Tough to move with both there. With both gone....that is a no brainer for me, but I like those two players quite a bit and due to that don't have an issue with Cincy not dropping to 27.

After the way they got bent over in the playoffs, I would've invested those picks into defensive prospects, and drafted Titus Young to complement White.

But Dimitrof has done a decent job so far, so maybe it will all work out.

Short term approach to a long term problem. They will be exciting to watch though as they try to exchange blows instead of stop other teams.

I agree that the price tag is way too high.

If Jones doesn't end up being the next Jerry Rice this is a bad move in the long run.

I agree with the last part here. That being said , no i don't think it was too much. Other than defence, there osnt ahole lot of talent in this draft clas and maybe thats what Atlanta was thinking was to get the one major peice they are missing and get the rest from late draft picks and FA. Personally i think it was a great pick for them. This will open up Gonzalaz even more. He should have a productive season with this addition. But as stated above with what i agree with is true if he doesn't become the second coming of lynn swann or jerry rice then yeah they did pay to much. Only time will tell.

Wanted to address this.

On a whole I agree, when you can get the best offensive player in a draft and you are not drafting one or two, that is huge. However, that being said, you just had a 4-12 season and you direly need to continue to change the attitude on this team. You may miss, and not hit the big stud at 27. In fact you have to know the talent level isn't close. But they could have taken a DB or OT or DL in the first, still got Dalton in the early 2nd, nab a wr in the later 2nd and had an extra fourth this year as well. PLUS two 1st round picks next year.

if you are a top team, and only a player away, I agree whole heartedly. If you need a major influx of new talent, you simply have to take this trade, and hope your player evaluations are spot on and look for value later in the draft

The price was exceptionally steep, but this is a franchise who has their coach and GM under long term contracts, and coupling that with their belief they are "one player away", they did what I think they felt they had to do.

That said......he better damn well be able to handle the intense pressure from the fan base and the members of his own team.

....and all this being said Jacquizz might have equal impact. The change of pace norwood could never stay healthy to offer.

Excellent point RC. Jacquizz will certainly be on alot of dynasty radars in the late 2nd to early 3rd
