Jets | Rex Ryan sees Shonn Greene as a 4th Quarter weapon Wed Jun 3, 09:32 PM
Rich Cimini from the New York Daily news reports that Jets Head Coach Rex Ryan sees rookie power RB Shonn Greene as a 4th quarter weapon.
Our view: The RB situation for the Jets is an interesting one to say the least. Thomas Jones is back at OTAs - looking more rocked up than ever before - even though he doesn't have the new contract that he wants. Leon Washington wants a new deal as well, and it appears like the team will deal with him before Jones. Shonn Greene has been dinged up throughout OTAs so far and recently injured his ribs in practice. Rex Ryan saw what the Ravens did with a 3-headed RBBC last season, and he may try the same offensive formula with the Jets this year.

Ill take Leon out of the three. Leon was a decent flex on limited touches last year, and I believe he gets a bigger piece of the pie this season. Greene will impact T.Jones in comparison to last years production, not so much on Leon

I agree on Leon. What this means to me is he will take over as the hammer if they hold a lead in the 4th. The big loser here is Jones, for even if they lead, Leon comes in on 3rd downs to move the chains.

The 2 man RBBC was bad enough, now it's starting to get way out of hand with teams moving up to a 3 man RBBC.:shake:

It's true as this is becoming even more of a trend. But for most teams the economics lead the way. If a team has two solid backs in stable contract situation RBBC X 2 is the way to go. But if a team drafts a rookie RB they almost have to work that rook into the mix to see what they got. One of the reasons to draft a rookie RB is your top back is aging or nearing a new much more expensive contract or both.
