Because Gore has struggled mightily in the past punching it in in the redzone, along with his fumbles as well

Well, the fumbling stopped two years ago. As far as Gore struggling to punch it in, that is true. However, more a reflection of the OL, which wasn't built for power rushing. Now, they have Staley, Baas and Rachel (who is a mauler), so I expect they will have more success in close this year.

Anything is possible, but I just don't see Singletary putting in a smaller, rookie RB to replace his star RB when they get in close...........

Coffee isn't smaller, he's 6'0 compared to Gores 5'9. I would expect Coffee to bulk up during training camp as well. He's listed at 209 and Gore at 217.

Coffee to 'make ground tremble': At the NFL Rookie Symposium in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., 49ers rookie RB Glen Coffee told CBSSports.com in an exclusive interview that he will get carries this season along with veteran Frank Gore. Coffee said his running style differs from Gore, which will give him the opportunity to take away some touches. "They want to run the ball first," Coffee said. "That's the approach they want to have. Frank is a great running back that I can learn from. He's so smooth when he runs, and when I run I try to make the ground tremble. To be able to incorporate his running style into mine, I love learning from him. Whatever role I fall into, I determine that. However good I do determines my role on the field. Right now I'm just trying to soak up everything and go out there and try to do what I have to do to help the team win

Coffee is a definite handcuff option for Gore, and if you're looking for good value with a late-round pick take Coffee in all formats. Remember, the 49ers struggled in recent years with short-yardage situations, so Coffee could fill that role and take away some touchdowns. We still value Gore as a No. 1 Fantasy RB, but Coffee could be a good sleeper if he comes in and is able to "make the ground tremble."

Well, in RB terms, he is smaller (at least for now), since height really isn't considered an advantage for a RB. Gore is shorter and weighs more. Bigger........

Anyway, you could be right. I just don't see it this year. Gore hates coming out of games and to me, it never made sense to take your best back out at the goal line.............

Gore - Singletary wants to run.
Westbrook - Fewer touches this year.
Jackson - Loved him at OSU, hated it he went to the Rams.

Gore, but really I'd take a tier 1 WR.
