So, I was thinking about the decision so many of us who pick in the 6-9 spot will face this year in redraft leagues.

Steven Jackson vs Frank Gore vs Brian Westbrook

All of them have injury issues. All of them have sky high potential. All of them come with question marks.

Tell me who YOU would choose, and why?

Westbrook.

Not just because I am a philly fan though..... :thrash:

In Philly, Westbrook IS the offense. Period...it all revolves around him...and getting coverage off the Wrs. From all I have heard he is comign back well from surgery.

Jackson just has never really made me a fan. He might be a good comeback potential....but the St. Louis offense just doesn't scare me...

Gore...is similar. If they could EVER get a Qb to make the passing game believable...then I would be much higher on Gore.

So give me Westbrook.

I'd say Gore would be the one I took.

First I don't trust Jackson. He's ruined many a fantasy team lately. I'm not a real forgiving person when players kill a team.

Westbrook has had multiple health problems over the last year, he's got a ton of miles on him, and finally he's 30 years old. For many RB's that big 30 turns into a stop sign.

Plus Gore catches the ball about as well as Westbrook, has no one to share his carries, gets all of the goal line touches, and has a new offensive cordinator who is expected to feature the run a bit more than of late.

Steven Jackson. If he can stay healthy I think he will have a monster season.

And therein lies the issue.

Even if he can do the impossible and remain relatively injury free, he has a shaky QB and an aerial attack that threatens absolutely no one.

1. Westbrook. He produces even though there is always something he is recuperating from. I think the rookie additions will help take the load off him but like someone already posted Westie is Philly's O.

2. Jackson. Even if he is healthy the team around him is not what it once was. Don't know if D's will have to worry to much about any other player.

3. Gore. Don't know why I just have never trusted him enough to take him before someone else did. Nothing against him but he never got me on the wagon, is on a weak team (and doesn't have to "potential" upside I think Jackson does).

1. Westbrook - He is the entire offense, and his handcuff can be had late in most redraft leagues.

2. Gore - He again is going to be the bulk of the offense IMO, and his handcuff might near be had in free agency.

3. SJax - This guy to me is a total waste of a draft pick. He has burned owners time and again.

Just checking.

While Coffee is a little smuffy size wise he was explosive at Alabama with a good nose for the end zone. In his final season at Alabama, the All-SEC selection and Doak Walker Award semi-finalist rushed for 1,383 rushing yds and 10 TDs. The is the SEC we are talking about which is a bit better than being a highly regarded RB in the Big Sky Conference. He was only like a #2 in a one two punch for awhile at Alabama only starting 17 times. But he did manage to tie Shaun Alexanders' yardage record despite not being used more. He was a guy you stuck out there an produced so well that by his senior year Alabama had to go with him ful time. I get to watch some SEC games and he looked pretty impressive in the games I watched.

Jackson!

I would take Jackson over the others because his per game average is better than both.

If you consider the injury concern I would still prefer him over Westbrook for this reason. Westbrook is always injured and is often a game time decision. Westbrook on several occasions has started games and been unable to finish or make worthwhile contributions in them. This is a nightmare for fantasy owners. With Jackson this has not been a problem. When he has been injured in the past there was no doubt that he should not be in your lineup.

I have had both players in years past and it is frustrating to no end when Westbrook is probable, ends up starting and has to come out of the game early or is just used as a decoy the whole game.

With Jackson I have always had more certainty about whether he will actually play or not. With Westbrook it is always a guessing game. I have suffered through the last 2 seasons with him and it is far too frustrating trying to predict whether he should be in my starting lineup. I have benched him and he has produced and I have started him and he has flaked out by halftime. I just don't need that kind of drama!

Gore would be my second choice because he is basically similar to Jackson. When he is hurt you know he is out.

It is much better to have a back up in your lineup than an injured stud that may or may not give you anything that week IMO. Westbrook while great has far too many guesstimation games.

Last year SJax had a strong finish and great Fantasy playoffs. The other two were kind of dudly in that category. Problem was injuries over a 4 game period before that probably made you miss the playoffs.
