2/1/09 - Super Bowl XLIII - Arizona Cardinals vs Pittsburgh Steelers

Heath Miller is having a pretty decent game, so far.

2/1/09 - Super Bowl XLIII - Arizona Cardinals vs Pittsburgh Steelers

He looked like he was balanced on his own player and his knee didn't touch the ground, but it doesn't matter now. The refs called it the way he saw it. I graduated from UNI in 1986.

That's where I graduated from. My sister shops at the store Warner worked at in Cedar Falls. He's a nice guy.

I didn't see his knee touch the ground before he was in, but that could just be me. The Steelers can now do what they do best -- play defense.

I don't think the Cardinals have the team to match up against the Steelers.

    Homers/Fans - Post your team needs/wants here

I won't speak for the Vikes' fans, but I would say they need a decent WR, and depth on both lines. They could always use another LB and DB as well. I wouldn't be surprised to see them pick another QB late in the draft. Lets see who is available to them.

Matt Cassel shoots himself in the foot?

It seems to me that he is showing a lot of class in this situation. He could say that he wants a long-term contract and that he has "earned" the right to be the starter, but he hasn't. I applaud this sort of statement.

    Tom Brady Update

Any injury that requires additional procedures to correct is not going to be one that is recovered from quickly. His rehab will likely take him well into next season at the very earliest, and possibly through the end of 2010. I do not look for him to begin sports-related activities for at...

    Rams Hire Spagnuolo

This could be a good hiring. We'll see. With all of the teams in flux, it'll take a good organizer to make a championship team. The Rams do have some talent.

    1/18/09 - Baltimore Ravens @ Pittsburgh Steelers

I would not want to be on the training staff of either team after that game. It will be a bruiser.

1/11/09 - Philadelphia Eagles @ New York Giants

Congrats to the Eagles on a good, hard-fought win. This sets up a very interesting matchup in the NFC.

    Minnesota.....2009

Had Favre been the QB for the Vikes this past season, they would have won at least 3 more games and had a bye last week.

    Minnesota.....2009

JD Booty could be the long-term answer to the QB problem in Minnesota. He might need another year of mentoring, so a guy like Kitna could be perfect. He would be signed for 1 year and be allowed to leave when the contract expires. If Favre comes in, it would be a similar situation, IMO.

Which team has the best shot at turning it around?

I agree with db on Oakland. If the team buys into Singletary's ideas, they could be pretty good.

Mort is reporting the Pats plan to Franchise Tag Matt Cassell

I would not be surprised to see the Pats do what the Rams did a few years back when Trent Green went down. They had a young, untested backup QB (Kurt Warner) in camp and gave him the job. The rest is history. If Cassell can continue as well as he has and Brady comes back in 2010, why not...

Jerry Jones reconsidering his stance on Philips, very interested in Shanahan.

Will Jones outbid teams like Cleveland and Detroit for Shanahan's services?
