Last year they didn't have to spend it. This year the cap has a Ceiling and a Floor. So they will have to spend it this year....... Shopping list???
 
linemen on both sides of the ball, cb & lb seem to be their biggest needs . . . this is one of those teams that could make it hard for teams close to the cap to be able to resign their own
 
take briggs, and we could get wallace and vincent! haha oh yeah... this is the real worl though:nono1:
 
I read Tolbert was a consideration since Blount is a liability in short yardage and pass protection. So sorry AD.

You sure they have to spend it this year? I thought It was 2013 that the Cap floor kicks in. Anyone know for sure here?

Cincy and TB both have a ton of cap space and both will be forced to use it at some point, I just thought it was 2013. I hope I am wrong as I'd love to see Mike Brown actually have to spend with the rest of the teams.
 
Dynamic RB, another WR to pair with Green (would LOVE to steal Wallace from the Steelers who are in cap hell, but it likely won't happen; L Robinson I feel would be a great target), CB help, G.

As far as specific players, haven't look at it much.
 
Wallace would sure give the Bengals the pieces to scare some teams to death and I love Robinson if he lands in WKRP Land.

You maybe right, it may not kick in until next year.

I have looked around a bit and this is what I have found...... They didn't have to spend it last year and they don't have to spend it this year as well. But there is a real pressure to spend it now even though it is not required.

Some teams are going into this offseasons with tens of millions in room to spend, with last year's space rolling over to this year. And there's no minimum spending limit in 2012 either, so that could create even more money rolled over into 2013.
But from a cashflow standpoint, some of these clubs could be getting themselves into murky water if they don't open the wallet soon. In 2013, the 89-percent minimum kicks in, with the rolled-over money included. And in 2014, the new TV deals will threaten to send the cap to the moon. So for clubs like Jacksonville, Kansas City and Tampa, holding back now means needing to absolutely splurge later, something they may not be able to afford.
 
Instead of spending mass quantities on two or three high dollar players, may I suggest building a team through f/a?

kind of treat the f/a market like the draft, only with proven pro's for a solid foundation to move forward.
and at the same time, target players you currently have under contract whom you feel are worthy of restructured contracts, and by doing so, locking their loyalty in long term.
