WR talent in the league at an all time high?

Was watching some of the pro bowl draft this week.....yes, it was aweful.....but what jumped out at me is damn, there is a ton of sick WR talent! The 8 pro bowlers are all fantastic talents, but it doesn't stop there. Hell, I think I can field a better group of 4 than you can from the Pro Bowl rosters from guys not playing in the game.

So lets see:
Pro Bowl:
Dez
AJ Green
Marshall
Gordon

Vs my non pro bowl roster:
Calvin
Dem Thomas
Julio Jones
Cobb (could have went Andre Johnson as well, but need someone to work the slot with the other 3)

Just amazing the talent that is at WR in the league right now.

So do we now apply the "Don't draft a QB early" mantra to WR due to lack of separation between the #1 and #20 WRs?

I know...that's silly because we start 3 or 4 WRs and only 1 QB, but still...

With the scarcity of elite RBs and the short list of elite TEs, aren't we talking around round 4 before we hop on a WR?

Is there "that much" more talent at WR as compared to years gone by? How much of this is strictly due to the offense that the "pass happy" league is running? Granted the net result, whatever the cause, is more receivers putting up more numbers but I'm not at all positive about the reason for such.

I just read an article giving projections for rookie drafts in dynasty leagues.

The top 3 picks were were WRs (5 of the top 12).

More talent coming!

I think due to the game going more press happy at all levels, more elite talent is playing WR.

When I was growing up playing football must of the best athletes wanted to play running back.......now they want to play outside. just a shift in what is glorified by youth in my opinion. And why not? Less of as beating, longer careers and larger pay days.

Starting line ups and scoring will obviously play a big part in that......but I know that most leagues I was in this post year finding wrs was pretty easy...I had a ton of receivers on most teams, it was rbs that were heard to find difference makers at.....

That said, stud wrs May be easier to pin point and make safer investments......

Bacon=greatest of all!
Thus the reason why RBs are even more of a rare commodity that needs to be grabbed up early in drafts!
