rotoworld,
Rookie WR Mardy Gilyard has joined Rams practices now that final exams have ended at the University of Cincinnati.

Gilyard stayed after mandatory minicamp practice Thursday to catch extra passes from fellow rookie Sam Bradford. Already an outstanding route runner with solid hands and exceptional quickness, Gilyard has a shot at slot duties as a rookie.

The young man has a long row to hoe but I think he can make it.

Perhaps it's these purple and gold glasses that I'm looking through, lol. I'll take LaFell though in a matchup of two good young WR's.

I was going to say, I love Brandon LaFell - I did the NFL Impact thread on him for SO. But you may have a bit a bias, as I do for Gilyard (Big East guy here), for Bradon. The question is if LaFell can be the Muhammed for the Panthers. Honestly, he'd be lucky if he even becomes THAT good. And I truly think that's the best he can be in his career.

With that said, I think Mardy Gilyard is a Steve Smith clone, so neither of them, IMO are future HOFers, by any means, but Mardy is super exciting.

I love LaFell's work ethic. He's the best down field blocker for a WR that I've seen at LSU. That will earn him playing time in the NFL. I love the way that he fights for the ball and his yards after catch are a thing of beauty. I think that both players will be in the NFL for several years.
