WR Camp?

A quote from Coach on another thread:

"Among the wide receivers that have been participating are Denver Broncos WR Brandon Marshall, Buffalo Bills WR Lee Evans, Green Bay Packers WR Greg Jennings, Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Michael Clayton, Minnesota Vikings WR Sidney Rice and Cleveland Browns WR Brian Robiskie. Washington Redskins CB DeAngelo Hall, New Orleans Saints CB Malcolm Jenkins, Pittsburgh Steelers TE Matt Spaeth, Arizona Cardinals TE Dominique Byrd and St. Louis Rams LB James Laurinaitis also are attending the camp. Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo may attend the camp next week."

My question is simple.

From a FF perspective, does attendance at a camp like this tell me anything about the talent, attitude or dedication of the players invited?

Id say going the extra mile to condition and get ready for the season says a lot for their dedication and attitude. The players invited all have talent.

Hard to gauge how much this could help production during the regular season.

It has to be considered a positive. Between OTAs and regular Training Camps there is 6-8 week off period. Some players use this time to get arrested, beat their wife, etc. These guys are working hard to hone their craft and stay in shape at least. So you have to consider this a plus. Lendale White used to call this part of the off season "Twinkee Time".

Spot on Coach. Plus spending time with Jerry Rice isn't likely to hurt any of those players. I wonder why TO wasn't around?

Since he's been getting into shape, I don't know if I can call him the Hamburglar anymore.

I must admit it is an old FF joke and that's why I said used to. This year he did come into OTAs slimmed down and vowed tp make back to traning camp with his weight loss remainig.

The Browns have Two Rookie Wrs that they drafted and one could end up a starter. One is here at this camp and the other is where?

Are you EVER gonna stop sniffling about TO?

You took him with your 1st and he sucked (I took Brees).

You took Steve Smith with your 2nd and he disappointed. (I took AJ)

You lost to me twice and finished 7th. I kicked your ass twice and finished 6th.

It's a bitter pill, mud, but it needs to be swallowed.

It's a new season and a new lease on FF life so chin up....

You can only get better from here.

Gentlemen:

Quite possibly one of the funniest exchanges Ive read in a while. Makes me think taking my women off the "waiver wire" is the best thing to do. :)

$100,000 to each of you.

Now, to answer the qustion, I think Im going to go name by name:

Denver Broncos WR Brandon Marshall - Im attending the camp to make myself marketable to other teams. If I was satisfied with Denver Id have my lazy ass no where near this.

Buffalo Bills WR Lee Evans - TO is trying to take the thunder from me Ive worked all these years to get. Im going to try and take advantage of this time and training to have a great year while the DIVA reaps the attention.

Green Bay Packers WR Greg Jennings - I just got paid an assload of money. Ive realized the pressure is now all on me to produce and I need the work.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Michael Clayton - I woke up after Gruden got fired and realized Ive been irrelevant my entire career. I think I have a chance to look good and prolong my career another few years. Thats why Im here.

Minnesota Vikings WR Sidney Rice - Im a bust, but Im a bust who is about to be hooked up with the greatest QB of all time. This is a chance to elevate my game to the double digit catch level.

Cleveland Browns WR Brian Robiskie - Im serious about my career. I realize I have a chance to a guy who could be a Wes Welker type and have a great career if I take this job seriously now.

Washington Redskins CB DeAngelo Hall - I need the work, and Im willing to make a commitment to what might be a great defense.

New Orleans Saints CB Malcolm Jenkins - If Robo and Baby Animal are here, it must be worth the time. I also see a suck ass secondary I could break into and make an impact, but I realize I need the work against NFL WRs

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Matt Spaeth - Im not sure why this guy is here.

Arizona Cardinals TE Dominique Byrd - Im taking my role seriously. If the guys in front of me dont take this seriously, Im taking their job.

St. Louis Rams LB James Laurinaitis - Im going to be expected to make immediate impact by my teammates, coaches, and city. Im here to learn as much as I can before training camp opens.

Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo
- Since Im not nailing Jessica Simpson anymore my head partially dislodged from my ass long enough to see I could be shipped out of town if I dont produce. I have no excuses anymore.
