WR Busts Candidates for 2014

First let's understand that for the purpose of this thread being a bust means you'll greatly under perform your redrafted fantasy position. So Colston, who'll slip down draft boards greatly will not be a bust even though he'll be 3rd or 4th in receiving for the Saints this year. I see some opportunity for some big name, highly drafted WR's to crumble compared to expectations this next football season and none are bigger than the glass breaking in Seattle when...

Percy Harvin is drafted way, way to high.

Eric Decker- Yeah he might land in a pass happy scheme and not suffer my expected down turn but I'm betting against it on this thread.

Juilo Jones- The talent is there but the dude can't stay healthy for crap. He'll be way over drafted this year.

Welker- He has the name recognition to cause him to be taken 3 rounds too early for me.

A guy that better watch it or he'll be on this list at year end.

DeSean- A healthy Maclin means DeSean's numbers are going to fall far and fast.

okay, let me throw some out there.

Josh Gordon - he is just one more screw up away from another suspension.
Randal Cobb - He has Nelson, Boykin and maybe Jones to take carries, and his first year as a starter he got hurt
Julio I agree with you.
Welker not too sure, as if Decker is gone, he will have major value.
DeSean - there are trade rumors, but unless Philly makes a move for WR early in draft, I think he is still good to go.
Andre Johnson and Fitzgerald - both will be taken high due to name value. But A.J. has a new coach and a new Qb to break in, and Fitz has competition and a fading Qb to use.

Gordon will bust only if it's an off field incident. Otherwise he's good to go no matter who they stick behind center throwing the ball.

Cobb- You could be right in that he'll certainly come back to earth a lot.

Johnson- I think you dead right. AJ will be over priced on the draft board.

Fitz- Maybe. I do think he'll under perform his draft slot but not by a lot. The man just keeps on putting up numbers no matter how bad his offence is around him.

Thanks for the new names. Who else Outlaws?

I might be. He looks to be the real deal, but cutler is fragile, and I think they lose McCown as back up this year.

Playing on a team with Marshall I can't see taking him in the 2nd. It's too hard to predict which Bear receiver will have the better year.

T.Y Hilton I love this kid but he is small and Wayne coming back and other talented yound WR around I dont like where he will be drafted this year.
Riley Cooper. he might have similar numbers as last year but no better. I think be are higher on him than they should be.
Garcon think people will draft high on him this year but i dont see him having a season as good as last one

Coming at you

I disagree on Andre. Even with a new QB, the guy is a virtual lock for 100 catches and 1300 plus yards. The last couple years, he has been going in mid 3rd and will probably drop to the 4th where I think he will be an excellent value. Maybe the new QB and coach will be smart enough to realize he could be a red zone monster if they actually throw him the ball down there. Still one of the biggest fantasy mysteries for me in my time playing. 6'3" monster and they forget about him in close.

Agree that Gordon will be a stud again. Kid is amazing and I hope he is smart enough to keep his nose clean. What a talent.

Cobb will be a PPR monster. Jones is probably gone, so Boykin steps in and I don't see a drop in targets for him.

My overdrafted guys are:

Antonio Brown: Had a great 2013 but I think 3rd round is early and teams will game plan for him a little more in 2014

Torry Smith: Way to0 inconsistent and I see him rated around #15 in redraft. Wouldn't touch him before the 7th and he will be long gone by then

Keenan Allan: No real reason, but he is being rated in the top 15 and I don't see him getting enough looks to get there. Will need to have a big TD number to justify where he will be drafted

A couple guys I like to be good values:

Roddy White: His 2013 numbers will make him a great value in the 5th this year

Colston: Ranked in the mid 30s in redraft, so number 3 WR material. The Saints will be airing it out again in 2014, so assuming he plays all 16 (big assumption I know but won't try to predict injury), I think 1100 and 8 is fairly realistic
