Mitchell has potential. He's a guy who is gonna play in this league, if nowhere else than laying out some people on Special Teams. He's got burst and when he hits people, they get horizontal in a hurry. He's big with athleticism that would have put him in the top tier of the Combine. The main question is, why in a year that Safety was not a strength, was Mitchell so universally overlooked?

DHB - Oakland, meet your new version of Troy Williamson!

Especially since you COULD have had Crabtree......AND your main competition in California GOT him!

Your question shouldn't be why he was overlooked. And our question is why he was drafted.

The question that you should have, and all of us have, is why the hell did they select him so soon? We can all agree that he has potential and could very well become a great NFL player, however NO ONE was going to take him that early, so if Al Davis really wanted Mitchell, all he had to do was wait.

Mitchell appears to be a hard hitter which is a good thing, since the Raiders play man to man, hope he is able to get on board if need be with that scheme.

At some time over this next week I fully expect Al to call a press conference, laying out with charts and graphs, why Bey is gonna produce as a Raider. H will then drop the bomb that he has uncovered info proving that kiffin and Crabtree talked predraft. Not that that would matter given the fact that Kiffin is no longer in the NFL, but that is the only way Davis can attain a boner, and he needs a reason for skipping over crabtree to save face. You heard it here first! :cunning:

Seattles panic trade to selct Deon Butler has to rank right up there too.

Not as bad as Als move, but it has to be a top 5 blunder for the weekend

The word is that Chicago was all set to take Mitchell, and when Davis took him, Angelo said the player we hoped would drop to us didn't, and then traded out of the 2nd round.

Someone explain to the me interest then in a guy who was graded out at a bottom of the 7th/UDFA guy?

Went DHB, only because they stepped around Crabtree to do it.

Wow, you guys actually thought Davis was going to go BPA? What the hell have y'all been smoking, cause I could use some of that. He goes FPA(BN), or Fastest Player Available (By Need).
