Which NFL players do you think have the ability to become successful coaches?

Peyton Manning: Has the potential to be a great coach. Guy knows more about football than anyone else i have ever seen.

Brett Favre..yeah a long shot and very unliked but take the bias out of it and tell me you cant say that he might actually be a pretty good coach.

Ray Lewis: I would let him coach a defense of mine. He would produce killers.

Ryan Leaf: Could be a way better coach...nevermind cant even type that with a straight face.:duckhunt:

Tom Brady: The only rival to Mannings football smarts title. Put those two brains together and we could revolutionize football with knowledge.

LT: I think he would be a fantastic RBs coach or OC in a run first offense.

All i can think of at the moment but feel free to put your :twocents: in and give me some people i haven't thought of yet.

Peyton,Bret, and Tom could start out as QB coaches or even offensive coaches and maybe then move up.

I didnt think i would agree but thinking about it, Lewis would make a beast of a defense as coach. As long as he would have some say so in who is drafted and what players play for him.

Jamarcus would make a great water boy. Nevermind he'd fumble the bottle handing it to players. Hmm guess the guy really is worthless on the feild. As a coach he could preach the ole do as i say not as i do(or never did).

I can see Bret, Tom, and Peyton as "Player Coaches" like in the past.

In the huddle "you go deep, you curl in, and you be ready for the dump off"

Mike Vrabel has potential.

Here's what Cleveland Browns coach Eric Mangini said last year before they played the Chiefs:

"I imagine he’ll eventually go into coaching and he’ll be outstanding."

"I’m telling you, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s not coaching major college football or pro football at some point and be really successful."

He's had his hand in the Chiefs defensive success.

The Chiefs have been pretty complimentary of Vrabel this week as a coach. He's likely one of the big reasons Todd Haley made this decision to have player-coaches during the bye week.

Coach Vrabel has a nice ring to it anyway.

Most of the guys I see listed in this thread will end up in the booth or on pre-game shows.

Seems like your best coaches come from a less than talented pool. The old "Those who can't do, teach" syndrome.

Manning could be the exception if he wanted to be but I've seen his commercials and I don't think he'll turn down the glamorous gravy of being a sportscaster.
