What Kind Of Leverage Do I Have?

With our date to name keepers due in about a week and the draft date not far behind, our little "Don't Talk, Don't Trade" league is starting to stir in regards to trade offers.

It's a 12 team, PPR, 6pts/ALL TD's, 3 keeper league where your keepers cost you the draft pick they were selected in.

My players of note are Brees (1), A. Johnson (2), Chris Johnson (4), Larry Johnson (1), A. Bryant (14), Lee Evans (13), Carson Palmer (14), Mendenhall (14), Sammy Morris (14), Josh Morgan (14).

I have been offered:

Westbrook (1) and Roethlisberger (3) for Brees and A.J.

Portis (1) and Quinn (14) for Brees and Bryant

I have also tendered an offer:

AJ and LJ for Gore (1) and a throw away.


I'd like to get C. Johnson a #1 running mate without losing both Brees AND AJ.

The other option would be to give up on C. Johnson and get another #1WR to go with AJ and Brees.

There is an awful lot of attention being paid to Brees in my league but I'm uncertain exactly what I should expect to get for him.

Never played in a keeper league but AJ and LJ seem like a bit much for Gore. Maybe for Forte.

I agree, but I don't have room to keep LJ so I will have to throw him away anyway. At least this way it costs my opponent a #1 draft pick to keep a #2 running back. :p

I have to go with my gut feeling that keeping Brees and A.J. is the better move. IMHO

I think Westy will be splitting time with McCoy to keep him fresh down the stretch and his numbers might go down just a bit from last year.

And with Brees vs. Roethlisberger, cant see a Big Ben getting more fantasy points than Brees.

you have all the leverage . . . they are lowballing you . . . brees, johnson and johnson makes for a pretty strong start to your team . . . ;)
