Week 2 observations

Observation #1 - having a young Qb isn't all that bad.
Week 1 showed why Tennessee wanted Mariota, yes he had a rough game this week, but he was still decent. Buffalo showed why they went with T.Taylor. Here is the key for young Qbs...even if they are meh, if they have talent to use they can win a game. Taylor has McCoy, Watkins, and a host of other WRs and Rbs that catch and run like crazy. So you might not be Elway, but stars make you look good. How about Carr in Oakland? Kid showed he has moxie against a hurt, but still good Baltimore team! Bridgewater didn't win it, but he didn't lose it either. Future is bright at Qb in NFL.

Observation #2 - NFC East will be won by who ever can stay healthy - Dallas has been dominant, but lost Romo for at least 8 weeks. Weeden could shine with that O-line and talent, but wait they lost Dez too...for 12 weeks. OH, and now it is known Witten has ankle and knee issues....YIKES. Giants can't help tripping over themselves....Eli, time to show up please. Washington played a great game this week, and we may be seeing the future at Rb with Matt Jones. But DeSean out, and Tes hurting again. Eagles are a mess. News to Kelly, you can't run with lousy O-line. You can't throw all day if you can't run to take pressure off lousy O-line. I think Dallas takes NFC east, but no other team comes out of it.

Observation #3 - AFC East - yup still belongs to Patriots....but that isn't for much longer. Miami and Buffalo are getting better, and have real talent now. Jets look to be promising as well. I could see one WC coming from the East.

Observation #4 - AFC South is a mess. Houston is still bad, Tennessee and Jacksonville are getting better, but still need work. Indy hasn't been great either, but will make playoffs as other suck. Indy will have a new HC by end of this season. Mark it, and maybe a new GM as well.

Observation #5 - AFC West could be as much fun to watch as the AFC North. West you have Denver winning with defense, KC winning with Charles and def., Oakland winning barn burners, and San Diego a very competitive team. AFC North you have Bengals showing youth, depth and ability to use many tools, Pittsburgh lighting up the score board(both on off. and letting other team score on def.) and Cleveland is 1 and 1! Baltimore is puzzling, but loss on def. to injury may be nail in the coffin this year. I like Oakland and Cleveland to play some spoilers this year to the tougher division teams.

Observation #6 - Carson Palmer has found the fountain of youth, and Brees and P.Manning are looking to steal it from him. Wow, Carson is on fire right now. Manning and Brees are not.

Falcons, Panthers and Cardinals are 2-0, Seahawks are 0-2.....who would have thunk that?????

On the fantasy side of things..... the RB position looks for a big shake up after week 2.

Jeremy Hill hurt his knee, then fumbled twice, then got benched for the 2nd half. Gio is more than capable of carrying that offense. No sure if this is a slap on the wrist for Hill or a sign of times to come.

Lacy was taken off the field early, and was immediately announced that he would not return. Starks looks good running the ball there and would be the hottest waiver pickup of the week even if Lacy has a short return time table.

Tevin Coleman also left the field with a rib injury. Freeman filled in well and would be a nice starter without a time share going on there.

Philly cant run the ball the Demarco....like at ALL. Mathews is no better. Only RB who can get yards seems to be Sproles.

The Dallas run game might be a total mess no without Dez and Romo. The offense could be far more predictable and terrible.

No one in Houston is worth owning at RB until Foster gets back. That offense sucks without him.

Hyde got banged up after having a great week 1. Status unknown at the moment.

McCoy continues to have other RBs poach the goal line work from him. So far, looks like he was not worth the 2nd round valuation.

The Den RB situation is hot garbage. Both RBs are completely unproductive. If you ever wanted to trade for CJ Anderson, now would be the time.

Matt Jones looks less and less like he wants a time share with Alfred Morris and more and more like he wants to take the job for himself

Coming at you
With Romo and Dez out, Dallas has to run the ball. Supposed to be hands down the best OL in football, but Randle has been underwhelming and McFadden plain sucks, so I fully expect Michael to be activated next week and get enough carries to see what he can do behind that line. He may not be the answer, but it's pretty clear that Randle and McFadden aren't so time to see what you have in Michael.

Murray leaving was a case of lose/lose. Dallas underestimated the importance of a bell cow back and Murray overestimated his skills going to a team with an inferior offensive line.

How has Dallas been dominant? You watching the same games the rest of us are?o_O
Only 2-0 team, so yes dominant, and one win against expected NFC east winner. With an injured Qb

I guess I have a different meaning of dominant. Yes they are 2-0. Game one they were dominated on the field in the trenches and only won because Giants made 2 or 3 of the dumbest decisions you could down the stretch of the game.

Yes they dominated Philly but was that because they imposed their will on them or was it because Philly is atrocious? Philly looked equally as horrible for 3 quarters against Atlanta last week so it means nothing that they were the 'expected NFC east winner'. That is just a prediction, the reality is far from the truth so far.

I understand winning is what matters but do you really think Dallas could have beaten Green Bay or Arizona in the first two weeks? Now Romo is gone and all bets are off...

Arizona has played against a bad Chicago team and a bad NO team. They definitely were not a lock to beat Dallas before the romo injury.

It's the NFL, nothing is a lock. Oakland beat Baltimore, TB beat No, not even their own mothers would have picked those game right.

My point of contention is throwing out the descriptive term 'dominant'.

Yes Dallas has won all their games. When I think dominant I think scenarios like 34-10 and the game was never in doubt. Dallas could just as easily be 0-2 as both of their games have come down to the forth quarter to decide the victor.

I guess I just feel like arguing semantics today...:p

Lol. How could they just as easily be 0-2? At no point in the second half did anyone feel like philly had a shot. They were down 13-0 heading into the 4th and at one point in the 4th Dallas was up 20-3.

Baltimore and New Orleans aren't that good.

And with 8 minutes left in game 1 the Giants were up 23-13 and lost.

The way Romo throws pics at crucial times it is not a stretch to think Philly had a chance until the 4th qtr. As bad as Philly played in that game they were still in it until the 4th qtr.

I wouldn't call that dominance.

And yes Baltimore and NO are not good...but Tampa and Oakland are dumpster fires!

Dallas and New York aren't the same team and I'm not the one that said Dallas has dominated the first two games. The Dallas defense did however dominate Philly the entire game.

Cowboys 2-0 but I don't see how they are going to hold up without Romo and Dez. Can't decide if Cowboys defense is that good or Philly is that bad. Probably some of both but more of Philly being bad. This just in. Bradford is a statue. He can't deal with any pass rush. Thinking Chip Kelly should be brushing up his resume. He picked the players so just piled on the pressure and will have to back it up. Murray projecting for 100 yds rushing....for the season.

Patriots in full revenge mode. Looking like the afc super bowl rep after two weeks. Pittsburgh would be second favorite.

Nfc. Who knows Packers 2-0 but not that impressed. Guess still the favorite. Atlanta maybe second at this point. Giants who knows? Have a strange feeling they are heading for 9-7 and a back door into the playoffs. One thing I know is the Pats don't want to see the Giants in the super bowl.
