Week 15, No Gates at TE for the Chargers.

San Diego Chargers TE Antonio Gates (foot) is not expected to play in Week 15 because of his foot injury, a source told Steve Wyche, of NFL.com. The short week of preparation does not appear to be enough time for his foot to heal enough to play. Being a Thursday game doesn't help.

You should probably still keep an eye on this situation 1/2 hour before gametime and see if Gates is active. He may take a shot (ouch) and go for it, he is one tough cookie!

I dont think he will go. The Chargers have a good shot at overtaking the Chiefs, especially if Cassel goes down again. They need him for the playoffs.

Now, with Floyd and VJax down, if they dont play who exactly is going to man the 1 and 2 spots in that offense?

Floyd not playing Thursday?

Floyd (hamstring) was limited in Tuesday's practice, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Analysis: Floyd played through the injury on Sunday (and scored two touchdowns), so we imagine he'll be fine despite some lingering soreness. The Charges do have a short week, however, so we'll keep an eye on his progress leading up to Thursday's game against the 49ers.

San Diego Chargers WR Malcom Floyd (hamstring) is expected to play in Week 15 despite being listed as questionable for the game, according to Kevin Acee, of the San Diego Union-Tribune.
