League source: McNabb "doubtful"

Jeff McLane, of the Philadelphia Inquirer, reports Philadelphia Eagles QB Donovan McNabb (ribs) is "doubtful" for the team's Week 2 game against the New Orleans Saints, according to a team source. Head coach Andy Reid refused to give a prognosis on whether McNabb would miss any time after the team's Week 1 game.

A. Gonzalez likely out two to six weeks

Jason La Canfora, of the NFL Network, reports Indianapolis Colts WR Anthony Gonzalez (knee) suffered a strained ligament in his knee during the team's Week 1 game. A preliminary diagnosis has Gonzalez missing two to six weeks, according to a league source. The team will do more testing on Gonzalez Monday, Sept. 14, and monitor any swelling, but the Colts expect Gonzalez to miss at least a few weeks.

Start over and hand the ball off repeatedly to DeWill and Stewart. Work your way back into the groove with short passes to your team, then try to advance to the occasional pick to the other guys, and pray!

Hakeem Nicks ankle sprain

Anthony Gonzalez torn ligament in knee
Add Urlacher and his dislocated wrist (out for the season).

Oh, last I saw the Nicks injury if foot related not ankle, don't think it is Lys Franc...but they are scanning to make sure.

It looked like he got his foot folded up pretty good on replay. Crunched heal to toe horizontally.

Nicks has sprained foot
The News
Updating an earlier report, it has been disclosed that Hakeem Nicks suffered a sprained foot during today's season opener against Washington, according to ProFootballTalk.com.
Our View
The prized rookie's X-rays were negative, but the severity of his sprain is still yet to be determined. Nicks noted that he has a "knick knack" injury, and there is belief he could miss 2-3 weeks.

Tatupu's injury is not serious
The News
Updating an earlier report, Lofa Tatupu's hamstring injury suffered in Week 1 is not believed to be serious, according to the Seattle Times.
Our View
This is good news, but the Seahawks are yet to speculate if he will be ready to go for Week 2 at San Francisco.

Seattle can't afford to lose him for long

This might hurt everyone on Tampa

from an email
Faine out 4-6 weeks
Tampa Bay Buccaneers starting center Jeff Faine will be sidelined four-to-six weeks after suffering a left triceps strain during their Week 1 game against the Cowboys.
Fantasy Spin
It not immediately known who Byron Leftwich will be taking snaps from in Week 2. The Bucs may be looking to add a center this week. New quarterback? Check. New offensive coordinator? Check. New center? Check. Gimpy No. 1 wide receiver? Check. Uncertain expectations for fantasy owners? Check.

Felix Jones is dinged up a bit
Sep 14, 2009 11:44 PM CDT Felix Jones has thigh bruise
The News
Felix Jones is dealing with a thigh bruise sustained during Sunday's game at Tampa Bay, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Our View
That explains why Jones only had two carries for zero yards in the second half, and was replaced by Miles Austin on a kickoff return. Head coach Wade Phillips is uncertain if Jones will be able to practice Wednesday.

No surgery for Polamalu
The News
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review is reporting that Steelers' safety Troy Polamalu will not need surgery on his injured knee. Polamalu is still expected to miss 3-to-6 weeks with the injury.
Our View
Polamalu said that this is the best-case scenario considering the injury he has, and the Steelers have to be happy about this news. We expect him to be out closer to six weeks than three, but he is known for his toughness and could be back sooner. We will keep you updated on his status over the coming weeks.

Pierre Thomas says he will play week 2

Thomas says he will play this week
The News
Saints' running back Pierre Thomas told beat writer Jeff Duncan that he will be playing this week. Thomas was out of Week 1 with a knee injury.
Our View
Thomas probably watched Mike Bell put together another great showing yesterday and decided he needs to get back on the field if he wants to get his share of carries. Bell should still get a heavy workload this week even if Thomas does play, but Thomas figures to get his opportunities as well when he returns.
