Waiver Wire Merry-Go-Round

I noticed Ogletree, McCluster and Avery back on the ww in a couple of my leagues.

I sent Daryl Richardson packing after he was errantly awarded to me and Isaac Redmon & Toby Gerhart have also returned home to the wire.

Soon; Andre Brown, Bilal Powell and Ramses Barton will be available again in most leagues but not until they have passed through the hands of many fantasy teams.

There are lots of reasons to tap the wire for playable options, but how much of it is just gold digging? Looking for that overnight superstar that will turn your season around.

And a better question might be....What are these long shots costing you? When we draft, we draft based on months of off-season study (cuz there's nothing better to do) but when we snatch at one of the shooting stars we must surrender one of our fraught over draft picks, giving up on the hope we held for them in October.

It's a merry-go-round of today's headliners and I can't help but to watch and wait for that drafted nugget to be excused from someone's roster in exchange for the fools gold that surfaces every week.

Chances are the dropped player is being dropped for a reason....after the 12th round or so, all your drafting is the same type of players you are referring to here......they are all lotto tickets. But wait till the end of the year and look at your top players at each position, bet you find some WW gems who changed seasons.

Just look at last year: Newton was undrafted in a majority of draft leagues last year, he ended as the #3 QB. Cruz was WW gem who ended the year as the #4 WR.

Taking flyers on trash others let go is just as much of a long shot as any other WW stab in the dark IMO.
