Virtual Thursday Night Football

I am always bitching as poverty means that I can't watch Thursday Night Football....... and this remains a true gripe.

The first Thursday night game.... was on NBC.

Last week, on the NFL Network, so I.....

Went to CBSsortsline.com and brought up game on their gamecenter thingy.

So I watched some ordinary TV with the game center running.

Some plays/lines on the virtual football field appear.

Now you can run your cursor over the plays/lines and a brief description of the play appears including flags and penalty action.

So you can go over plays quickly and catch right up and watch a little more TV in the meantime.

I still will bitch that I can't watch Thursday Night Football for free, but this was almost dare I say it....... enjoyable.

I often watch the "live update" version of a football game, Coach!

Yeah, it's a little pathetic to stare at a cartoon football field and watch different colored lines move like an animated bar graph but at the end of the night you have all the information you need.

Used to have a football game with a vibrating field. You put all your plastic players in position and turned the vibrator on until the ball carrier was stopped. Little plastic tabs on the bottom of each player that you would bend in order to semi-control what the player did.

hmm
I saw those same directions on my ex's birthday gift

Man you guys are OLD!!!

i had one too! watched, starred at many gamecenter games, wondering, sometimes, if the computer broke when it was actually a hurt player that caused a 5 minute delay in "action". However, I have been a big enough pain in my wife's a$$ this summer that she bought me the football package this year. Yeah for me !!!

Or slide an offensive card in, then a defensive card and turn on the light.

And the ball was a football shaped piece of dense felt

I always put a regular guy (not that stupid 10 ft tall solid white monstrosity) at the QB position and just dropped the ball on my receiver. The longer the pass, the higher I had to drop it from. Worked rather well and if it hit a defender it was intercepted.
