I hope he brings a lawyer with him and a copy of whatever workers safety regulations you have in the states.

In Canada a worker has the right (must refuse any tasks that could result in injury)

That would leave the Chargers with the right to pay him to stand around, make him happy, or release him
 
I traded for VJ in Landry and Im hoping it pays off by some reasonable number during the playoffs and elite status again next season whether its with the Chargers or not.
 
Nothing will happen. He will report, be off the roster for 3 more games due to his off roster status now. Then he will be back for the last 6 and since he missed all of camp and off-season, he won't be worth a tinker's damn. Droping his trade value for next year even more.

@ Aspera1163 - I traded for him too, so I hope he is able to play as well. It looks like SD may need him to play, and he may need to play to increase his trade value. I am not sure how him continuing to sit and do anything is going to benefit him either.

A football player saying "I refuse to play cause I might get hurt", yah.... that might not be the smartest thing for his own long term value when he wants a long term multi million dollar deal
