Vince Young Says He'll "Shut Up" in 2009.

Young, you're an idiot. I can't believe this is your attempt at "keeping your mouth closed." Seriously, if you want us to feel like you've grown up, stop digging your own hole. This is the line that kills me:

"If they want me to sit on the sideline and be there to watch the game then that is OK with me, but at the same time I am getting my checks and I am fine.''

I know money is important, but this pretty much told me that he doesn't care.

I think he doesn't care about Tennessee anymore, especially the fans. To a certain extent he's right, they are ungrateful shits

He doesn't care anymore. He can't blame Texas or Tennessee for this one. He was not ready mentally to leave, and now here he is, on the bench acting like a spoiled brat.

IMO, you earn your keep. Being the starter on a playoff team is a privilege, not a right.

True.

I think the physical talent is there, but the hampster behind the wheel done lost his damn mind. Interesting to see who will be the guy to take over for Collins.

Why do all the problem childs get mentioned going to the Raiders, isnt one nut case enough (Al Davis) :coocoo:
Young has some serious mental issues and should be evaluated by the league.
If i was an NFL owner, that crazy wouldn't even be a consideration.

Read that statement again, think about who the owner is, look at who he has hired lately, and get back to me

Would still like to honestly know what went on last season, rather than all the unverified news stories.

This year should be an interesting one in Tennessee. The Titans were a playoff caliber team with Vince Young, like his style or not, the team was a loser without him, instantly became a winner with him.

In 2008, the team was improved, particularly with a dangerous offensive weapon in Chris Johnson. Kerry Collins had a decent year, nothing great, defense carried this team to the playoffs, Chris Johnson got hurt, and the playoffs were over 60 minutes after they started.

2009, this team is in trouble. Forget about Vince Young, Kerry Collins, and Chris Johnson. This team took very strong hit to their defense, and their only chance at the playoffs this year is to be able to become creative on offense and start producing points.

All the Titans did in 2008 was stunt (and possibly set back) the growth of what should have been their starting quarterback. Was it for good reason? Possibly, but again, NONE of us know the true story, only assumptions.

What do I "KNOW"? Everyone that thinks this team is in good hands with Kerry Collins under center will get a rude awakening this season. The offense will be under pressure to score, and Kerry Collins will fail and fail miserably. This is a 55% career completion quarterback, who has thrown almost as many interceptions as touchdowns (and the touchdown totals are not impressive to begin with), and when placed under heavy pressure, we all know the social meltdown he is capable of.

Once upon a time the Raiders were known for acquiring the NFL misfits and did put them to good use with great success when Mr.Davis was clicking on all 8 cylinders, but those days are over and big Al needs to spend his money more wisely on productive talent instead of going after these rejects. His choice in coaches are something to be desired. The biggest mistake was letting J.Gruden get away.
The game has passed him by as well as his mind.

Maybe the old saying is true, "Misery Loves Company"

I must admit something, I think TN is better with Vince at the helm. My problem was the guy couldn't take the pressure of being booed. That's ridiculous. With that said, I remember watching them at the end of the season 2 years ago agains the Giants, thinking, Vince Young could actually become a very good play maker in the NFL.

I still believe this. With Chris Johnson and L. White producing, taking some pressure off of his shoulders, I think he can keep this team in the AFC South Championship talk year in and year out. Yes, he has to grow up a bit, but I feel benching him kept him from that a bit.

Titans have 10 draft picks and appear to be placing their nose into the Anquan Boldin talk: SportingNews.com - ProFootballTalk

Like Mike said, the biggest blow was defense. If they deal around and get Boldin, they will need to focus on defense with their remaining picks, to make sure they have depth.

I agree that K.Collins is not a long term solution. If V.Young is going to succeed in the NFL he better get some thicker skin because he's already a marked man and if he comes back as a starter in Tenn. or elsewhere and dont perform as expected the boo's are going to come down on him like a ton of bricks. :thud:

I think he is gone after this season. Wonder if the Titans will use one of those 10 picks on a QB
