Minnesota Vikings WR Percy Harvin has dropped his trade demand, and intends to report to minicamp and play the regular season. However, he has made it clear he expects a new deal after this season. He is due only $655,000 in base salary this season, plus a $27,500 workout bonus.

I think Minny is in the same position with Harvin as Chicago is with Forte. They don't want to drop a huge load on the player, due to injury concerns and durability. Not going to be fun in Minny if they lose their best Wr.

OH!!! Now that was a good one... and honestly I'd be all for a Percy holdout... as i woulda been last year for Forte, the difference is forte stands to make 7.7 MIL this year. And Percy... not so much... the vikings aint gonna win anyway so why not sit the year, from his perspective, other than it may hurt his value later. Maybe he's thinking if he plays he may get the rare midseason trade or figures he can fake a migraine any time he doesn't want to play

I think Percy needs to show GM's that he can play a whole year without injury issues if he truely wants to cash in like he has the potential to. He has a lot of reasons to play IMO.

he has now stated that he will play this year, but will hold out next year if he does not get his contract renegotiated. Interesting idea to draw a line in the sand now.

Now he just needs to go out and play a full year and produce at a high level. If he can do that, he should make sure he gets his cash before next year or a hold out is a logical move.
