The Vikings Farved last year. This year the Niners have a good D like Minny.
They have some talent at WR like Minny. They Have a great RB in Gore like Minny does with AP. The Niners have two first rounders although the latest rumors out of the owners meetings this morning makes it sound like the Eagles may have backed off of their first rounder demand for McNabb.

So keep in mind it may not take a first rounder to get McNabbs services and vote and comment. Is the time right to roll the dice now that the Cardinals are weaker. A window of opportunity or too big a gamble?

At this point I would only give a 3rd for him. He is a very good QB, but I'm not sold he is the end all at this point. He has been on teams with better talent than the 49ers and has not got it done. He is an upgrade over what they have.....but he's not someone I am willing to hurt my future to get either.

I voted yes and have advocated this move before. Of course it depends on what Philly demands. I wouldn't give up either one of their firsts, but a 2nd/4th pick would make it happen..........

First for those who feel the Eagles should keep McNabb, you are wrong.

The Eagles have started to transition, as they always do. It is time to move to Kolb, have him develop with McCoy, D.Jackson, Maclin and Celek. Add to that the changeover on defense with young Lbs, younger at Cb, new safety and change on def. line. They will not resign him after this year. So do you let him go for some kind of picks, or do you let him walk as a FA later.

As for San Fran.......why not? IF A. Smith is the end all be all, then they have a one year QB to push him and help him develop more. If he isn't, you have the talented vet that might get you over teh edge to go with teh RB, TE and now Wr talent you have.

Other teams I think could use McNabb - Buffalo, Carolina, Minnesota if Favre does not come back, Arizona I still feel would be better off, St. louis...to let the drafted QB learn from.

But only time will tell.

I will say this, I am a huge Eagles fan. I have a lot of respect for what McNabb has done. I still think its time to change. Add to that the fact that I was damn sure it would not happen. Now, I am not so sure. Everything I have read, even from Philly says one Qb will be gone. No one wants vick. So either kolb or mcnabb will be gone...and my money is on Mcnabb

I voted no, the 49ers need to get a QB for the future not a temporary fix which is all McNabb is at this point in his career.

Should the Eagles move McNabb yes while he still has some value

As a 49er loyal I agree whole heartedly with this. I would rather develop a QB that's going to be good for us in the long run rather than pick up someone just to do well for onee season. Especially since the NFC-West seems like it's going to be super weak this season and we're probably going to the playoffs no matter who QB's for us.

Opportunity can sometimes be a small window.............

Smith is a huge X-factor. If he sucks, then the team has no chance to win a playoff game, if they do manage to win the weak west. With McNabb and a good draft, they have the capability to beat anyone. I would love to see Smith turn it around and have a solid season, but I have just seen too many "deer in the headlights" moments to honestly believe that will happen. Hope I'm wrong.

If the price is right and he adds a year or two to his contract, it would be a good move. Win now.............

Philly needs to lose him but the 9er's damn sure don't need him.

McNabb needs to go to the Browns or the Raiders where he can be a superstar on a losing team. It's his MO.

Niners need a "project" QB for the future. Smith is going to do fine on this new generation 49ers team. He's becoming surrounded by quality talent and has a defense that can keep him in the game.

Niners would win the west whether Warner retired or not. I like San Fran to be the next real dynasty in the NFL and you could put darn near ANY QB under center and get the same results.

Is this becoming a trend? I think I disagree with you on just about every point.

Neither team may NEED him but he would be the best by far for either at this point.

His MO is that he is good.

Smith really can't be considered a project any more. It is do or die time.

SF may be the front runner for the west but no where near the margin you are describing.

:hmmm: Weather you like McNabb or not, this statement is way off base. Philly has been very successful and while they haven't won it all (close), they haven't been a "losing team".............

I would love to see McNabb in SF this season...................:xpopcorn:

I'm with the masses here.....saying McNabb's history is leading a losing team just makes no sense at all......and comparing the Eaglas to the Browns and Raiders boarders on the ignorant......

Put that Super Bowl Ring on your "Ignorant" finger and wave it high in the air!

Eagles have been a very solid team DESPITE McNabb....Not because of him.

Just my opinion, of course.

Solid teams with bad QBs don't make it to Championship games on a consistent basis. McNabb has been a very good QB. Would love to see him in SF..............

Didn't think the off season BS would be flying this early. By ctek's reasoning I guess we can write Marino off as a superstar on a losing team because we all know the Fin's were a very solid team despite Dan...not because of him

It had just gotten too quite around here. I figure by going extreme on a few touchy issues we could keep the fur flying for a while.

I'm disappointed that Chris didn't sound off on the Notre Dame QB comments.
