Urban Meyer to take over at Ohio State?

Sports by Brooks is reporting that Urban Meyer has agreed to take Ohio State job. Staff likely to include current interim HC Luke Fickell.



Guess he got tired of "family time".

At this point, it's all still rumor. A rumor that has been floating around Columbus since the summer. It has heated up lately and my gut is telling me that this will happen. A private LLC purchased Herbstreets home when it went up for sale this summer and ever since the rumor is that it was Urban.

It seems he had more issues with Florida university officials than thought. He left claiming health issues and wanting time with family. "ONE" year out and now talks of him going somewhere to coach. Not the first i've heard of this rumor but it is the first i've heard him going to Ohio State. He's a good coach but he seems to be a little undecisive of what he wants and sticking with a game plan. Wherever he does go, don't expect a long time commitment from him.

Some of the rumor's are that Fickel will be retained on the staff and groomed under Meyer for the future; which could be good. He's not a bad coach, he's just not ready for this spot. In 5 years, could be completely different.

He was very careful in his denial though.....He said he had not been offered a job and had not accepted a job......he did not say there was not a verbal agreement in place though ;)

You always know things are true when it comes to sports rumors and gov't rumors by how fast they deny any knowledge of the situation, only to do the complete opposite of what they early swore by.

Honestly, Im not so sure Brady Hoke wont have something to say about that. With Nebraska learning how to play brutal power football again, Wisconsin, Michgan, Ohio State with Meyer, and Michigan State the Big 10 could be a bloodbath every year, and I like it.
