Troy Smith

efactor

Coming at you
Kid has "it". Amazing composure. After getting his 3rd TD pass called back by a holding penalty and facing 3rd and 36 with the game on the line, he completes two to Gore to get the first down and hits Crabtree for the go ahead TD.

Thanks Ravens...........

Luckily for Smith he's got Frank Gore the run the ground pursuit, allowing some time to a feel for the field. He played very well today. I was pleasantly surprised.

Well, if I seem overly enthused, remember we have had Alex Smith, so to have someone who can hit receivers in stride is exciting.

He stays calm and after Alex Smiths deer in the headlights look, it's a nice change. I think they had 9 pass plays over 20 yards. Nice........

I like Smith, E.

I liked him in Baltimore but he was odd man out.

Wish the rest of the 9ers would man up.

Love Singlatary and want him to succeed.

I agree with CC, I thought he was the better option in Baltimore but never really got a chance. He seems to be doubted where ever he is at so Im guessing the guy is a gamer and plays much better than he practices. I doubt all of the coaches that were in either Baltimore or San Fran through out his time at both places just miss evaluated his talent. He probably don't throw well in practice or has a bad command of the offence but just plays well when the lights are on. There are a lot of NFL guys like that but not too many QBs. I dont think he is the end all, be all, for the future of the 49er franchise but can be a good bridge until whatever QB they draft develops.

He may not be the end all be all, but he is a perfect fit for that team. They need to stick with him.

I only saw the overtime drive. but that last pass play to get a late first down where he had a DE hanging on him and he had moved to make time in the pocket brought back memories of Ohio State. Love this kid, and am damn glad to see him get a shot.

I just hope they stick with him.

They will. Mike ain't stupid and he never liked Alex anyway. Alex was like the prettiest of the ugly girls at the dance. Lack of options.

I know he's a bit on the small size, but so is Drew Brees so I won't hold that against him. Throws a very tight spiral that seems easy to catch and he has been deadly rolling out to his right. They had more plays over 20 yards yesterday than all the games previous.

Go Troy.........:homer:

Love seeing him get his shot. I stated when it's all done, he'll be the best QB from that class from day 1. He just needed his shot and he has it now. Kid can lead.

As a rule, I don't watch College football, so I assumed he was one of those great college QBs whose game would never transition into the pro's. Way wrong. The way he commands the huddle in his 2nd start compared to Alex in 5 years shows that he is a leader. Didn't look over to the sideline with that "what do I do" look once. Alex did it 5 times a game. Not exactly what you want to see out of a leader.

Will be interesting to watch the rest of the season and it would mean a ton to the franchise if they could get a solid QB without having to pay #1 type money.......

That was what some said. I watched Smith's entire career at OSU. He was a player who got better each and every year. Looks like he has not stopped. He's a confident kid who is a leader and will take control of the huddle.
