rotoworld,

The Bears recently spoke to retired Trent Green about signing on as their backup quarterback, sources tell the Chicago Sun-Times.

Green officially retired in June of last season and has a couple TV analyst gigs lined up. Still, the Bears are interested in bringing in a veteran that knows Mike Martz's system and the situation remains "fluid," according to the Sun-Times. Josh McCown has also been mentioned as a possibility for the job.

Green should choose the TV gig though barring injury to Cutler his job with the Bears wouldn't be to stressful.

Still dont no why Marc Bulger is not considered for a backup roll somewhere.

His 2009 salary was $6.507.280 might have something to do with it if his 2010 salary due is close to that.

espn reports that Trent Green did talk with Da Bears but stated in a radio interview that he was not considering a return to the NFL.

Smart thinking to me.
