Trading down from 1.1

I am considering trading down from 1.1. I have a horrible team that I'm rebuilding in a 10 team dynasty league.

League requires each team to drop 1 of their top 3 offensive player and 1 of their top 3 defensive players. So it's a rookie, FA, and a couple vetern gems.

I tried to trade 1.1 for 1.3 and 2.3, but the owner turned it down after considering it for some time. The same owner has the 1.2 and 1.3 picks, but giving up the early second with the players that will be available was the deal breaker.

I was considering offering the 1.1 for the 1.4 and 2.4. I was hoping for some thoughts outside my own head on this offer. I'm not totally sold on Moreno being a 3 down back with all the other RB's in town. I like Crabtree a lot, but he WR depth is so deep, I believe I can hit a WR in a later round.
I'm looking to trade down and still get Crabtree (doubtful), Greene, or McCoy. I don't like the D.Brown/Addai situation.

Looking for thoughts outside my own head... what do you think of 1.1 for 1.4 + 2.4 deal or should I hold tight at 1.1 and take Moreno?

Not sure I can really respond to this - I have never played in a 10 team league but I think there would have to be more information to really be able to evaluate.

Your roster, players available, what WRs are you targetting for later in the draft?

Do you have an idea how the picks in front of you will go if you drop back to #4? Moreno, Wells and Crabs? If you are that high on Greene/McCoy it would be worthwhile since you would be getting a player you want while also picking up an extra building block in the 2nd.

Hmmm...

First, the assumption you are working off of is the first pick should be Moreno. Why?

Secondly, if each team must drop one of its top three offensive players...could you not take one of those?

As to your trade..yes if I could get someone to give me their first and second round pick only for my first...I would do it. I agree Moreno in a rookie draft is a big question mark. I would much rather go #4 and maybe get Crabtree and a top Te or rookie Qb in round two as well. Heck in some cases I have seen solid rb options fall into round 2 as well. If you can get extra for one selection...I tend to like it.

i agree with Phic in that the top pick will most probably be a dropped vet as opposed to an unproven rookie. If you have to drop 1 of your top 3 offensive players that means that there is a good chance a good player will be available. That being said if you could even trade 1.1 for 1.4 AND 2.4 i would do it in a heartbeat. When do you have to declare which players are being dropped?

The top player drop normally puts players of interest into the draft, but this year everyone pretty much has QB's to drop. The problem is the QB's are not that tough to get in this league because of the drop rule. The hard part is to get WR's and RB's. The only non-QB player that is any good is R.White, but he's not better then any of the top picks in the draft.

I'm just trying to trade back to get more early picks and wanted some opinions as to the value of the 1.1 in picks. To get at top 5 pick and their second rounder, should I have to kick in a third or is what I'm asking seem fair to you.

I just proposed 1.1 for 1.4 + 2.4. Should I be kicking in more for the trade to be seriously considered.

i think if you add ur 3rd rounder you will defeat the purpose a little bit. If he rejects this trade try adding both your and his 3rd rounder?
