Answering a question with a question:

If you did nothing...who would you keep for next year?

No PPR does impact as does starting requirements. If you go 3 wr ...Austin gets a bump. If 2 WR...looking at P.Manning as a solid choice.

Much depends on scoring beyond the non-PPR as well as the starting requirements. Lemme guess that the other owner kept Brees this year so he can not next season. Don't sell cheap on CJ2K. You know you are gonna have hungry dogs chomping at your heels to cut a deal on the cheap.

Tough call for you. He's dealing from a position of strength with Newton starting off so well, and CJ is a definite "buy low" target for many people. Your TE's are a big weak spot. Doubt he would agree with adding in Graham for Celek in the deal, but I would at least ask for Olsen as a throw in to the original deal. Keep countering until he gives up a little more, I have a feeling he wants CJ pretty bad and may up the ante for him.

Max did ask some good questions that need some answers.

good question either austin, mjd, blount, possible manning if i dont drop him. We start qb,2rb,2wr,flex rb/wr/te,k. Our scoring is 4pts td pass, 6pts rushing and receiving. in order to gett a point for yards for both rb and wr they have to get 40 yrds. then after that 1 point for every 10. qb they need to reach 125 yards to get a point then 1 point for every 25 yards after.

Breaking news he just offered this to me tonight. So know what.

I give- C.johnson,s.smith(car),longwell
I get- Brees,BJGE,R.Wayne

The 4 points per passing TD devalues QB's enough to where I wouldn't do that original deal. Now, what are the chances that he'd do MJD for Brees straight up? That's actually a more even deal in this format and he'll probably still bite.
Unless his sole purpose is to snag CJ in order to keep him. The downer here is that you don't have the luxury of dropping Peyton because someone would probably scoop & stash to keep.
Something else to keep in the back of your mind.. in a couple weeks when Foster finally gets his hammy right, Tate will hold WAY less value, and might trigger your trade partner to be more desperate for RB help.
Standing pat for now might be the best choice, then revisit this somewhere around week 5 or 6. Your team is still solid enough to survive until then since you have good depth.

THIS ^^^^^

Sit tight. Scoring system and starting req do not dictate making the trade.

That second 'offer' is borderline insulting, IMHO. Steve Smith obviously has epic chemistry with Newton, and the other owner is preying on the slow start of CJ2K. I never saw the resurgence of Steve Smith (CAR) coming...and you got killer value. So, you are giving up you first round pick in CJ2K for BJGE. You are giving up one of the hottest WR in the NFL for the #1 WR on a team with Kerry Collins under center. Freeman is not gonna produce Brees numbers, but this trade is not in your favor. And he wanted your kicker. A kicker. Really? What was the point there exactly. I know...even-up the trade numbers...but really...a kicker ...

Who is on the QB wire? Shot in the dark...but...is Fitzpatrick available?

i would keep cj2k... of course you will have to wait maybe 2 more weeks till he puts up some points for you. You have a good qb, who should improve in the next games, and maybe manning returns this year for the playoffs (if you make it : ) )

trading cj qould creat a rb problem for you, because i dont think you can count on jacobs the whole year. Blount is a good player but he will have some games like week 1 where the bucs will ignore the rushing game and focus on the passing game
