Is not happy with the Pats!

rotoworld,
According to Yahoo's Michael Silver, there is a "growing disconnect" between the Patriots' organization and Tom Brady.

Silver reports that the sides have had "no substantial talks" about an extension as Brady enters a contract year. Brady reportedly feels the Pats aren't "displaying much urgency." He reported to OTAs on Tuesday, but has still missed the majority of offseason workouts. Silver does expect the sides to ultimately reach an agreement, though it might be the 2011 franchise tag.

rotoworld,
According to NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora, Tom Brady won't sign a long-term contract with the Pats until Peyton Manning gets a new deal with the Colts.

LaCanfora doesn't think there's any way that Brady departs, but the question is whether he's open to another team-friendly deal. Manning's deal, expected to approach $20 million per season, will set a "template" for Brady.

You know, I am starting to wonder if the wheels are starting to come off the truck in NE. First they have some down seasons....and rather than go and sign high priced replacements..they try to nickel and dime wins. Then Moss feels he is not wanted, and Brady wants big money.

Just may be me...but I think this is headed for a long decline in NE land.

rotoworld,
In response to a report that there's a "growing disconnect" between the Patriots and Tom Brady, owner Bob Kraft says he wants to solve the issue -- if there is one.

"Look, we are so lucky to have Tom Brady," Kraft said. "He's under contract. He's here. I'm privileged to have a pretty special relationship with him. And I think he knows how I feel about him. I think we both want to solve the problem, or the issue. I don't know that it's a problem ... it's complicated."

I don't see long decline in NE because I don't see ANYONE in their division becoming completely dominate, not even the Jets. NE will still compete with any of those teams, so I guess if that's what you call wheels falling off, then so be it, but I don't see them just fading away just yet.

I do see the signs in the air of a potential down fall. A Moss departure after next year will certainly hasten the fall.

There's definitely going to be a fall, but they compete for the next 3 years in their division, IMO. Tom Brady may not decline for another 4-6 years, we've seen QBs hang in there with age before. Moss' departure would really hurt, but I don't see Brady or Bill freaking out over the loss of Randy (I had them taking Dez Bryant in my mock, preparing for that divorce). Wes Welker wont be around much longer either, if anything, from declined production. However, the one thing that I don't see the Patriots giving up, is their increased defensive play. If they can maintain decent defense, there's no offensive powerhouse in the AFC East that they can't handle, and that may be the difference maker.

rotoworld,
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Patriots and Tom Brady are making enough progress in contract talks that Brady could have an extension in place by the end of the summer.

The biggest hangup, to this point, has been the uncertain status of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Schefter reports that no deal is imminent, but describes negotiations as "positive." The Patriots are said to be nearer to extending Brady's contract than the Colts are Peyton Manning and Saints Drew Brees. All three are in contract years. Meanwhile, FOX Sports' Adam Caplan reports that Brady reported to Patriots camp on Sunday. ESPN's John Clayton had previously speculated Brady might hold out. He won't.
