Time to blow up the Bengals?

per an article on ESPN, I want to weigh in here. Specially since I live near Natti and see the day in and day out stuff.

the answer is yes. Sadly, it won't help. Why?

First: Owner - Mike Brown is still convinced he is his dad. He isn't. He never has been. If he continues to meddle in the player moves and decisions, the team will only have spotty success at best.

Second: GM - Oh yeah...they don't have one. They also won't hire a HC with that power and ability. The buck stops with Brown, period.

Next - HC: This will be a mutual sepperation. Lewis rejected an extension last year. He will leave, as he is tired of the attitudes on the team, and the meddling by Brown. The bringing back of Henry was the straw that broke the cammels back IMO. He will get hired again...probably as a DC, which will be great for him. Best guess is they will stay in house with the current DC to take over, as he has a 3 year contract extension. He will hate that move.

What they need is a real coach, with real power, to make the roster moves. I would love a Cowher or Gruden type in here, but it won't happen.

Players:
Say goodbye to OchoCinco and Owens. Ocho may be back due to contract left, but Owens is a gonner. I also think Benson will be gone, as they won't pay him what he wants. They will need to draft a solid pounding type Rb, and really, really use Bernard Scott as a change of pace similar to the offense in the 80s. Wr has future with Shipley and Caldwell. Plus the young TE in Greshem...god grant they learn to use him.....
They must resign Jonathan Joseph, and let the young Lbs take over. Main focus on Def has to be safety depth and DE for pressure.
More drafting on O-line also would help.

Net, this team has talent. I happen to think Qb isn't that bad, but he needs time to throw and he has absolutely no faith in the line now.

Curious if Zimmer can light a fire under them if he does take over.

Do you feel his frayed elbow tendon has healed and his throwing is as good as its ever been? It seems like a lot of the talk I hear points to Palmer holding this team back right now. Not that there are any real alternatives on the roster.

Marvin and Bratkowski should be gone. Marvin's not a bad coach, but they need a new direction.

I loved Zimmer, but that D is flat this year so not sure if he's the answer, but he will get the shot.

Offense needs a real OC with some creativity. Defense needs to bring pressure.

OL needs to be overhauled, new coach needs to hold Carson accountable for his failed mechanics and bring in an OC to work with him to fix it. It's not mental and it's not health, he's let the mental toll of the injuries change his basic mechanics, that is what is wrong with him IMO. He needs a rebirth, this coaching staff can't do that for him. Ocho will last 1 more year and yeah, doubt they bring back TO. Benson, not sure on, but I woujld not give him long term $$.

On D, need pass rushers. Personel may fit a 3-4 better with a few changes. Agree with Phic on Joseph, but I think they only keep JJ or Hall, they won't keep both which is a shame.

But bottom line is noting will change until Mike Brown is gone. They need a real GM and they won't happen as long as Brown is around.

Harsh to not bring TO back. Apart from the lack of effort on that one interception, he's looked pretty good.

Will he want to be back?? And will they be in a position that makes sense to bring him back (i.e. a contender). I agree though, he's been the Bengals best WR.
