Thoughts on Fred Jackson for 2010

Coming at you
Quietly had a nice season in 2009 despite splitting time most of the year with Lynch. I know Buffalo invested a high pick and a lot of money in Lynch, but Jackson seems to be the better player. I know RBBC is the vogue in the NFL, but with as many holes to fill as the Bills have, Lynch seems like decent trade bait. With his skill set, I think Jackson can be a 1700 total yard, 10 TD guy in a more full time role.

Thoughts from the Outlaws? :xpopcorn:

I agree. All Freddie did was preform when given the reps. He proved that he wasn't a three week wonder to me.

I have to agree with you guys. Lynch will be a guy who can move because of the uncapped year. Now the questions becomes who wants him?

He is legit. He is the first NFL player to go over 1000yards rushing and 1000 yards on kick returns. At least that is what I heard on the broadcast last weekend. Have not checked it.

As for Lynch....he could be trade bait....but his criminal issues and the fact he is one step away from a 1 year ban...makes him an iffy trade. Keeping him as backup and change of pace might be the best thing for Buffalo.

I am very high on Jackson though...and will be looking to draft him next year ...especially in ppr leagues.

Jackson is a stud. Even more of a stud in ppr leagues. I'm glad the Bills finally realized that. Maybe they could package Lynch and someone else to get a viable QB for next year.

Confirmed:

(Rotoworld) Fred Jackson became the first player in NFL history to rack up at least 1,000 rushing yards and 1,000 yards on kickoff returns in the same season. Analysis: His 2,516 combined yards are the fourth highest total in NFL history. It's time to consider Jackson's starting job permanent as opposed to a temporary benching for Marshawn Lynch. While the roles won't be finalized until the new coach evaluates the backfield, F-Jax is clearly the superior player.
