Thomas Jones to Seahawks?

The National Football Post is reporting that the Jets called in to an NFC West team (presumably the Seahawks) to acquire about dealing Thomas Jones.

Leon isnt a lead back and Green is an unproven rookie. I dont see the Jets getting rid of last years AFC leading rusher in hopes that Green will be a lead back who can last all season, especially with Sanchez likely starting.

They have been talking about how impressed they have been with Greene so far, so it wouldn't surprise me to see Jones traded.

This is the last year of his contract and they wont be resigning him so I could really see them getting some value for Jones. Besides I have heard nothing but good things about Green from Jets Camp

I can definitely see a trade like this going through, but what would Seattle be willing to give up? Jets are pretty thin at RB if you take out Jones. Maybe they just trade for value and search the free agency for a seasoned veteran. That way they give Green plenty of chances and if he doesn't do as well as expected, they have another solid back.

Must admit when I first read the post I thought it was an attempt to get someone to bite on TJ in the SOuFFLe II draft. We are right about when he would be going without that added bump.
