Lance Briggs airs grievances about player-management relations
Chicago Bears linebacker Lance Briggs said players and management are not seeing eye to eye on many issues, and that the contractual disputes involving a couple of players are taking focus away from performing on the field. Briggs had requested a new deal or a trade during the preseason. Matt Forte also wants a new deal, and Chris Harris recently requested a trade after being benched during Sunday night's win over the Minnesota Vikings. Briggs said the situations have become a distraction. "I think it takes away from wanting to just go out on the field and just play," he said. (ESPN)

*&^%$#(@ Take: Between Briggs' public frustration with management and Jay Cutler's obscenity-laced sideline rant directed at offensive coordinator Mike Martz last weekend, it is clear that the Bears' organization is far from being one big, happy family. For fantasy purposes, let's hope these issues don't start affecting Forte and Cutler's production on the football field.

I have steadfastly maintained for years that Martz is a moron. He is still riding a false perception born of lucking into a team of great players for whom his offensive schemes were perfect. He is not a great offensive mind, he tries to fit players into his mold, not mold his scheme to the strengths of the players.

If I were the offensive line coach, I would beat his ass in the showers to let him know how I feel about not having the TE's and RB's chip those ends. WTF is in Martz's mind? He completely misuses players, seemingly trying to recreate his glory days by ignoring the aspects of his players, and demanding them to adapt into his style....

"I" want to beat his ass, and my FF players aren't even being impacted by him
