The Urban Meyer "Tebow Excuse Machine" continues

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Tim Tebow's pursuit of perfection might be causing him to play a little tight.

Florida coach Urban Meyer said Monday his star quarterback could be putting so much pressure on himself that it's causing the top-ranked Gators to bog down on offense, especially inside the 20-yard line.

ESPN NCAAF Meyer: Pressure has QB playing tight

Meyer...you know it might be the fact the SECs suck ass teams are better this year and people have FIGURED YOU OUT. Isnt this about the time Meyer usually jumps to another school?

Im so sick of Florida and Tebow. I really hope they lose at some point this season. But if they do we may have to go through hearing about another damn speech again.

Either way, it's going to be the end of Tebow at the end of the season, and the Gators will return to mediocraty. But like Nikki, I would love to see them crash and burn. Multiple times, but at least once, preferably to Florida State

You'll get to watch your dream come true Nikki, live from Atlanta, Ga. in the SEC championship game.

Ok.......you're the resident SEC expert. Im listening......

First, let me start by saying this is post concussion Tebow UF.

Basically, UF is having the same problem that LSU was having earlier this season, just with a better offensive line. UF runs the same damn dive play for 80% of the offense. Tebow is a bruiser...once he gets past the front 4 of the defense, he lowers his head and usually takes out dominant LBs for 7-8 yards per carry. Add the threat of him handing it to Demps or Rainey and you have 1 play that can drive the best defense crazy. Now, you can tell Tebow is gun shy and cringes at the point of that hit and is only getting minimal yards per carry. Teams are literally putting 8 in the box and now can key on Demps and Rainey. There is no threat, or at least UF hasnt shown a threat, of Tebow passing the ball more than 10 times per game...and these are mediocre passes at best. 80% of that offense is gone.

Brantley is a pure passer. I'll dig up his numbers in a sec but they are pretty dayum good in limited playing time...obviously these are late game numbers but he gets the job done. I would say he is probably the best pure passer in the SEC with the only other QB coming close being Mallet. The kid has TONS of confidence as you can tell in interviews... and who wouldnt be confident after playing behind Tebow for a couple of years. The ONLY thing that is questionable is UFs receiving corp. They appear weak but havent had any passes thrown to them so who really knows.

IMO, with Brantley running the offense...they score 10-14 more points on both LSU and Miss St.

BUT...no way in hell Tebow sits one play while at UF unless they are leading by more that 50 pts. Holy Tebow is going to be the reason they dont win the NC this season.

Thank you BB. And I love how people are expecting the gators to return to "mediocraty" with a stud like Brantley sitting on the bench. I love Tebow but I am already excited for next year when Brantley gets to step in.

I'll be sure to save up my v-bucks so I can put everything I have up against everything you have! :)

I have to say, Id be a little nervous if I was UF in the SECCG...be it against Bama or LSU. Bama and UF have shown that they are very beatable in these last couple of weeks. It appears they have regressed while LSU appears to be improving vastly.

Im still on the fence with LSU's improvement just because I think Auburn is THAT bad. It remains to be seen if our offensive line will be able to give Jefferson enough time against teams with an actually pass rush. It also remains to be seen if Jefferson has figured out that the 53 step drop in the pocket is not a good idea. Im hoping he has gained enough trust in our stud WR corp to be where they are suppose to be so he can get rid of the ball quicker. It does seem Les has figured out that dayum option is worthless with Jefferson running it...he only ran the play once last week.
