The Tennessee Titans and Coach Fisher are parting ways

In an unexpected development in what already has been a turbulent offseason in Tennessee, the Titans and Jeff Fisher, the NFL's longest-tenured head coach, are preparing to part ways. According to an NFL source close to the situation in Tennessee, the move could be announced as early as Friday, although it's uncertain if Fisher's departure will be termed a firing, a resignation or a mutual parting of ways. It was confirmed by a league source that he will not return to coach the team in 2011, contrary to what was previously expected.

Not sure its worth another thread, but does anyone here think a fresh start and a new offensive philosophy might work out for the Titans? Their offense is predictable and boring.

(Ill also say this was really shitty of Adams to do, basically making sure Fisher didnt get a head coaching job this year.)

Total BS! They will regret this decision. And yeah, major BS with waiting this long so there are no head coach openings.

Eventually? Maybe.

Here is the thing, Bud has screwed the pooch here. Many of his top execs said he had to ditch Young, and keep FIsher. Now Fisher has had enough( I heard it was mutual by the by...) and so has some other top execs who are going to retire now. Bud may be stuck on a sinking ship.

Fisher won't be out of a HC job for long. All the coaches on the hot seat this season that some how kept their job are on a short string now. With Fisher just sitting and waiting for the right offer to come along, owners will be quicker to pull the trigger on a failing coach to grab him. Del Rio better be worried. He's already been told win or else by the Weavers. Ole whats his name in Cincy will be looking over his shoulder also.

What makes Fisher such a hot coach anyway??

In 16 seasons he was .500 or worse 10 times, including 5 losing seasons. This was posed on Sports Radio here so I figured it was worth at least an attempt at discussion here.

Rumors are deep he is going to Philly to fill the DC job. I don't buy it, but that is what is flying.

I don't know either. Just going by what they were saying on espn tv/radio. I dont get it. Be nice to see the reasoning behind what makes him such a hot commodity. Can it be his long time HC experience or more of the lack of quality coaches available?
