The Green Bay Packers might use their franchise tag on QB Matt Flynn

The Green Bay Packers might use their franchise tag on QB Matt Flynn, now that they have locked up TE Jermichael Finley to a two-year deal. Using the tag on Flynn might cost them a $14 million hit against the cap, but they could then trade Flynn to get something in return.

Perfect NFL job...... Making $14 million dollars holding a clipboard and wearing a headset.

I hope, oh how I hope Flynn gets away from the Packers and in my perfect world he'd land with the Fish in Miami.

I wonder how he feels about getting franchised??? It seems to be a risky move by Thompson with high upside and a very good chance of exploding in his face. 14 million to a backup is a bunch. It makes you feel that they have something working with a specific team for a first. Kolbs performance last year, and then Palmers spotty work for the Raiders paints this move by another team as a risk. The Dolphins makes the most sense.

That is a whole lot of money to invest in cap for one position. Can they afford to tag Flynn and pay Aaron and still meet other needs? :dunno:
