The future of Brian Brohm

Packers may very likely be the team to go and get McCown, which means Brohm is pushed out the door. I personally would be quickly picking up Brohm and get him properly evaluated, rather than going by the comments out of Packers camp. I tend to think that this guy was railroaded last year in an attempt to take as much controversy away from Rodgers as possible.

Nothing concrete to back up my theory, just too odd how that guy was quickly shoved to the back of the line last year, and it is very tough to show any sign of improvement when you are getting the least amount of real work in practices.

Fully agree here. Something was just never right. I know why GB drafted him...they did so with the fear Rodgers implodes or get injured again. But it is almost like they are personally sabotaging Brohm to protect Rodgers. Flynn will always be a backup type.........but with the injury they need another Qb in GB.

Moving this to it's own thread.

I think much was done last season by the packers staff to ensure Rodgers looked successful, including a move toward pass protection and way from good run blocking. it resulted in alot of yards, and ensured that Rodgers looked good, but also resulted in a very unbalanced team.

Last year was just odd though. As soon as the idea of a quarterback competition was brought up between Brohm and Rodgers, the idea was quickly squashed, saying this was Aaron Rodgers team. And just as quickly, Brohm suddenly was not even good enough to be the #2.

I always felt it was a misguided pick, not unlike the pick when Rodgers slid. Thompson has a big problem not sticking with his draft plan. He sees a atsy morsel sliding and he jumps, aborting his whole draft paln entering the event. I'm not saying you shouldn't shop for value, but the Rodgers pick could have been for a player to win a Super Bowl a few years back. Favre was still on top of his game and he needed pieces to help him. I am tickled to have Rodgers right now however!
